[2025 Taipei Attraction] Travel Guide for Xiaoyoukeng Visitor Center (Updated May)

Small oil pit This time we went to Taiwan and rented an accessible taxi for a day to go to Xiaoyouhang, Yangmingshan and Tamsui. Now let's talk about the small oil pit. As soon as we got off the car, we smelled the strong smell of sulfur and saw the white smoke and mountain forest landscape. The most characteristic landscapes are the volcanic fumaroles, collapsed terrain, sulfur crystals, etc... Also the accessibility here is well done, with ramps, all viewing areas are able to drive wheelchairs to where, so that disabled people can see the whole landscape! Looking for a break from the busy streets of Taipei? Xiaoyoukeng in Yangmingshan National Park is the perfect place to explore some raw nature! Be prepared for some strong volcanic sulphur smells 🌋 Despite being very close to the city centre, Xiaoyoukeng is very geologically active and one of the most active areas within the National Park. 💥 Hot steam bellows out from the depths of the earth causing hot springs that literally boil on the surface ♨️ Getting there: Yangmingshan National Park is situated in Beitou District of New Taipei City 🛵 - Around 30-40 minutes from Shilin, Taipei 🚕 🚍 - MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station and take a 40-minute journey to the Yangmingshan National Park. #taiwan #taipei #volcano #staycation #mountainview #createwithtrip #naturewonders

🗓️Itinerary: Qingtiangang -> Lengshuikeng (Milk Lake, Jingshan Suspension Bridge) -> Zhuzihu -> Xiaoyoukeng Stayed in Yangmingshan for two days and visited these places ~ There are also hot springs ♨️ There is a tourist center at each stop, with introductions and snack bars/restaurants. We had noodles at Lengshuikeng at noon. They were not very delicious, but we had to wait for the bus, so it was good to have something to warm our stomachs. There is a shopping street in Zhuzihu. You can try the white-cut chicken. I found a restaurant here for dinner. I think it’s just okay, so I don’t have any special recommendations. I will try it if I’m hungry. It’s more suitable for me to enjoy the scenery. ✨😆 💞Recommendation reason: The scenery is really beautiful, and it is convenient to bring children. We took the bus, but if we don’t drive ourselves, we can’t climb the mountain/run too many trips. #MarchGoodPlaces2025

#familytrips2024 Xiao Yu Keng was one of the places we visited during our second family trip to Taiwan. Xiao Yu Keng is a place in Yangmingshan National Park whereby it is a volcanic steam area with hiking trails and natural hot springs. It was a certain an unique experience to see steam emitting out from the hills. In 2024, I hope to bring my family to visit some mountains in China.
