Ushijima Shrine is located about a 10-minute walk from Asakusa Station. The deities enshrined here are Susanoo-no-Mikoto, Amanohohi-no-Mikoto, and Sadakishinno-no-Mikoto, and are said to bring good fortune in agriculture, academic advancement, bountiful harvests, protection from misfortune, and matchmaking. This shrine has a statue of a black cow called the "Nadeushi," which is said to heal you if you stroke the part of your body that is ailing and then stroke the same part of the cow's body. It is also known as a shrine for breaking off bad relationships. Don't miss the torii gate! It is a rare wooden three-wheeled torii gate in Japan. #tokyotrip Walked across a bridge over Sumida river and found a hidden gem near Tokyo Skytree! Serene and peaceful shrine minutes away from the busy Asakusa Sensoji area is this little shrine Was here in November 2022 . The Shrine was lit up with lights and bamboo decorations it has to be definitely one of the most unique and beautiful shrines I've seen in a while.
