[2025 Osaka Stay] Travel Guide for Toyoko Inn Osaka Tsutenkaku Mae (Updated May)

【3-Day Osaka Trip】Universal Studios Fun + Shopping and Dining at Shinsaibashi! How to spend the Dragon Boat Festival holiday? This year, we decided on a spontaneous Osaka getaway! Though it’s just a short three-day, two-night trip, the itinerary was perfectly planned to include all the must-play, must-buy, and must-eat experiences! ⸻ Day 1: Off to Osaka, Dinner at Shinsaibashi We took an early flight directly to Kansai Airport, breezed through immigration, and hopped on the Nankai Electric Railway straight to Namba. After dropping off our luggage, we headed to Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street for food and shopping! For dinner, we indulged in the long-craved Ichiran Ramen, followed by rounds of takoyaki, kushikatsu, and matcha ice cream. While eating, we also explored drugstores, UNIQLO, GU, and Bic Camera, shopping to our heart’s content! ⸻ Day 2: A Full Day at Universal Studios – Harry Potter, Mario, and Demon Slayer The entire day was dedicated to Universal Studios Japan! We entered the park early in the morning, with our first stop being the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Sipping on butterbeer and walking through Hogwarts was a childhood dream come true! Next, we headed to the highly popular Super Nintendo World. The Mario Kart ride was incredibly immersive. We also managed to get on the Demon Slayer XR roller coaster, screaming alongside Tanjiro – it was exhilarating! The park’s food was also a highlight. We tried the Minion popcorn bucket, Harry Potter turkey leg, and the massive Jurassic burger (so big we couldn’t finish it). ⸻ Day 3: Last-Minute Shopping Before Heading Home The final day was reserved for more shopping at Shinsaibashi – stocking up on drugstore items and fulfilling friends’ shopping requests. We wrapped up the trip with a bowl of Ippudo Ramen before heading to the airport with our haul of goodies. It was a short but incredibly fulfilling trip! ⸻ Tips: • It’s recommended to purchase Universal Studios tickets and express passes online in advance to save time. • Stay near Namba/Shinsaibashi for convenient shopping and transportation. • For holiday trips, book flights and accommodations early!

#MayTravelSupport I'm traveling to Tokyo in March and Osaka in May. There are so many places to go in Tokyo, and I'm busy with gourmet tours in Osaka. It's fun to stay at Tsutenkaku and walk around Namba and go on a local gourmet tour. If you prefer a place with not many tourists, there are many tourists around Tsutenkaku, but if you look around the alleys, there are surprisingly many places to go. I also recommend the zoo. I always walk from Tsutenkaku to Dotonbori, Shinsashibashi, and Americamura. I found local gourmet restaurants by walking rather than taking the subway! Gourmet restaurants that only locals know! It's so much fun to discover them. The gourmet restaurant in Tenjinbashi closes at 8 AM, but you have to go by 6:30 AM at least to eat them. The name is Nikumaki Set! Meat Gimbap Set! You can interpret it as such. Niku means meat, and Makki means rolled. In addition, I also recommend a store called Doushiro. Look for it like a treasure hunt. It's an 18-minute walk from Tsutenkaku to Dotonbori, so walking around and finding local restaurants saves subway costs, and is good for cost-effectiveness or a gourmet tour.

#大坂之旅 Osaka is really a city that plays with neon signs, especially Tsutenkaku, which is a must-visit place when visiting Osaka! 🎯It is also one of the filming locations of Conan's "The Magician of the Century's End". The scene where Kaito Kidd flew down from here to steal is simply too classic! As soon as I came here, I felt like I fell into the world of the second dimension. It was so amazing✨ 🌟 Features of Tsutenkaku I have always thought that Japanese aesthetics is the kind of simple and elegant style, but I didn’t expect that the Tsutenkaku area completely overturned my perception. The huge signs here are bright and exaggerated, which made me feel that Osaka is not like Japan, but more like an Asian city full of magical colors. I really love this unique feeling! 🗼 Highlights of Tsutenkaku 1⃣ General Observation Deck Features: 360-degree indoor viewing, with a relatively ordinary field of view and height. 2⃣ Special outdoor observatory Features: Fully outdoor with hollow guardrails, full immersion and no obstructions for taking photos. Highlights: The plank road is suspended in the air, and the end is a glass floor. It feels super cool to stand on it! Recommendation: Take photos from the upper level, the city is right under your feet, it feels great! 3⃣ Tower Slide Features: Fly down from a height of 22 meters in 10 seconds, exciting and fun! Note: Remember to go to the side to get professional equipment first~ 📸 Check-in station 1⃣ Main Street Features: The most classic filming location, but it has a lot of crowds. Recommendation: Take photos at night to maximize the atmosphere of the surrounding buildings, as if you have traveled to the world of "Spirited Away"! 2⃣ Spa World Hotel Terrace Features: Overlooking the main street of Tsutenkaku, few people and good photos. Tip: Locate the Spa World Hotel, walk up the high steps and you’ll find a great photo spot! 🚇 Transportation and Tickets Transportation: Take the Subway Sakaisuji Line to Ebisucho Station. Tickets: General observatory: 1,000 yen for adults, 500 yen for children. General Observatory + Special Observatory: Adults 1,300 yen, Children 700 yen. Slide: 1,000 yen for adults, 500 yen for children. Opening hours: 10:00-20:00 (last admission 19:30). In short, if you come to Osaka, you must check in at Tsutenkaku, it is really fun and beyond the movies! 💕
