People here still wear Ming Dynasty clothing.
In Tianlong Tunpu, you can see people wearing blue long robes with wide sleeves everywhere. They are authentic Han people! They are called "Tunpu people" and are descendants of the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu period garrison. Zhu Yuanzhang built walls and fortresses here to strengthen his rule in the southwest and stationed troops to cultivate the land.
For more than 600 years, the Tunpu people have retained and inherited the lifestyle and cultural customs of the Ming Dynasty. Their clothing is called a living specimen of Ming Dynasty clothing.
Here you can see solidly built Tunpu groups and towering fortresses. Triangular observation windows are left in different directions of the fortress.
Tunpu folk art is extremely rich, and the most representative is the theatrical living fossil "Dixi Opera." After the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the Tusi system was greatly weakened, and the policy of changing the land and returning to the flow was gradually implemented. However, our Tunpu people followed the ancient teachings and "lived in the army and the farmers," so they practiced martial arts. Dixi Opera evolved from the Ming Dynasty's "military Nuo" more than 400 years earlier than Peking Opera and is the inheritance and development of Nuo culture.

The former residence of Shen Wansan, a place where you can get rich by entering [Guizhou Tianlong Tunbao].
👏👏👏The Ming Dynasty, so far away, yet so close - Guizhou Anshun [Tianlong Tunbao]
If you want to know more about the Ming Dynasty, this village representing Ming Dynasty culture is a must-visit!
For friends who like to visit scenic spots with historical stories - close your eyes and rush!
✅5 reasons to visit [Tianlong Tunbao]:
1️⃣Upholding the ancestral system of the Ming Dynasty Han people, unchanged for 600 years. Preserving the stone houses and stone roads of the Ming Dynasty
2️⃣The Fengyang Han costume from 600 years ago is still their daily attire
3️⃣Home of the Di Opera - a theatrical form older than the national quintessence Peking Opera
4️⃣The former residence of Shen Wansan - after being exiled to Yunnan and Guizhou by Zhu Yuanzhang, he finally settled in Tunbao. To this day, the descendants of the Shen family still reside among the four major surnames of Tunbao
5️⃣A commercial-free ancient village, still inhabited by the descendants of the Ming Dynasty army.
🚄Transportation:
High-speed train: Chongqing - Anshun
After arriving at the train station, contact the innkeeper in advance. He will arrange a van to pick you up from the station and take you directly to the inn. Pay the driver 30 yuan. A maximum of 6 people per car, still 30 yuan. This is great, no per capita calculation! The drivers are all local residents, very honest!
🏡Accommodation:
Live in a local residence for 2000 yuan/month, including 3 meals!
The accommodation environment in Tunbao is generally average, as it is all in residents' homes. The first floor is for the residents' own use, and the second and third floors are usually rented out. Each room has a bathroom. However, I personally prefer living in such old buildings.
🍖 Meals:
The three meals included in the inn are relatively simple. Breakfast is porridge, steamed buns and eggs, and lunch and dinner are some home-cooked dishes. No problem eating your fill!
I usually take my child to the town to eat some local specialties.
📍📍📍If you are traveling to Guizhou Anshun, you can stay in Tianlong Tunbao for 1-2 days. Tunbao is very small, and you can visit it in one day. It is recommended to hire a guide, as it is a place with stories.
As most of the village is still inhabited, do not enter other people's homes without permission. Ask the owner before taking photos.
💴Entrance fee:
The entrance fee is 50 yuan, sometimes collected and sometimes not, depending on whether there is someone at the entrance. It is relatively random and Buddhist.
If there are many tourist buses, there will be someone to collect fees. Tourist buses will mostly be charged an entrance fee.
I live in Tunbao, and I was taken in by a local car. I have been living here for a month and have not been charged. Sometimes when asked, I tell him which inn I live in, and they let us in.
🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️The photos were taken during the summer vacation, and there are visibly fewer people~ A quiet place

Gaodang Village, an ancient Buyi village with a thousand-year history. Stone and wood structure stilted stone houses have been baptized by hundreds or even thousands of years. Tianlong Tunbao, where there is a local opera, an intangible cultural heritage. Immerse yourself in the heroic epic, and on the streets are women in long-sleeved blue coats. This is the "Fengyang Han costume", a traditional Han costume of the Ming Dynasty 600 years ago. They are the most unlike Han people but the most authentic Han people.

Tianlong Tunpu: Exploring the Cultural Heritage of a New Tourist Landmark in Guizhou.
How long is six hundred years? Six hundred years of history are right before your eyes.🕵️♀️
This is Tianlong Tunpu in Anshun, a sufficiently niche ancient town.
Tianlong Tunpu is an ancient town with a history of over 600 years, located in Pingba District, Anshun City, Guizhou Province. It is home to a unique Han Chinese group, the Tunpu people. Their language, clothing, residential buildings, and entertainment methods all follow the cultural customs of the Ming Dynasty, making them a living fossil of Ming history.
💛 About Tunpu Culture
⏳ Tunpu culture was formed because the Tunpu people stubbornly adhered to the ancestral system of the Ming Dynasty due to a mission.
For six hundred years, nothing has changed here. The women still wear long-sleeved navy blue coats, the houses are still built of stone, and life is still comfortable and leisurely. Tunpu is just that simple and pure!
🌈 Why Tunpu Exists
After establishing the Ming Dynasty in Nanjing, Zhu Yuanzhang sent 300,000 troops on an expedition to Yunnan. The troops came from the Han Chinese in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and were commonly known as "Northern Troops Southern Expedition" and "Taizu's Pacification of Yunnan".
After conquering the southwest, Tunpu was widely established on the main road from Guizhou to Yunnan to station troops and cultivate land. Anshun, known as "the belly of Guizhou, the throat of Yunnan, and the lips and teeth of Sichuan and Guangdong", also became a major land cultivation area. Today, Tunpu has become one of Anshun's calling cards.
🌟 Highlights and Features:
1️⃣ Hometown of Di Opera
Here, you can find Di Opera, a form of theatre even older than the national Peking Opera. Performers wear wooden masks and sing traditional folk theatre. The daily program is posted at the entrance. Although you may not understand it, you can still enjoy the excitement. Each performance lasts about 10 minutes, with a one-hour interval between each. There are many performances throughout the day.
2️⃣ Fengyang Hanfu
Every ethnic group has its own clothing, but the Han Chinese do not have a specific clothing to express their ethnicity. As a genuine Han Chinese, people here still wear the traditional Hanfu of the Ming Dynasty, 600 years ago, known as "Fengyang Hanfu". This is our Han Chinese clothing!

💗Other tips:
Park your car in the parking lot, then buy a ticket at the service center and take the shuttle bus to Tunpu to see the old buildings. Many residents live in the ancient town of Tunpu, and visitors' cars are not allowed inside. The shuttle bus stops at the entrance of a school, and visitors walk into the ancient town gate. Be sure to check the timing of the Dixi opera performance. The commercial atmosphere in Tunpu is not strong, with only a few elderly people making handicrafts to sell at their doorsteps. The Dixi opera is performed in Yanwu Hall, which is not easy to find. Spend 30 yuan for a pot of Bazhen tea in Yanwu Hall, and enjoy the Dixi opera while sipping tea. To understand the history of the Ming Dynasty from 600 years ago, come to Tianlong Tunpu.

The 600-year-old Tunbao is full of Nuoxi masks: those with courage, come take a look
Guizhou has a Tunbao called Tianlong, which was once a garrison for the border troops of the Ming Dynasty's founder, Zhu Yuanzhang. The Ming government set up many military Tunbao in the border areas of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan, combining border defense with reclamation, somewhat similar to the current Production and Construction Corps.
Among these Tunbao, Tianlong Tunbao is relatively large and very well-preserved. It is said that the villagers living in Tianlong Tunbao are mostly descendants of the Ming Dynasty border soldiers from 600 years ago. The Ming Dynasty soldiers who came to Tianlong Tunbao for border defense were mostly transferred from the areas of Jiangsu and Anhui, so the local villagers' dialect still carries many accents from the Jianghuai region, including their traditional clothing which is different from the ethnic costumes of Guizhou. They wear a kind of Hanfu with Ming Dynasty characteristics, which is quite different from the Hanfu we understand today.
Nowadays, the architecture and residents here still retain the style, living habits, and clothing of that time, forming a unique Han cultural phenomenon known as 'Tunbao culture'.
In Tianlong Tunbao, there is a local opera called Di Opera. Di Opera is similar to Nuoxi, but not exactly the same. The actors who perform this drama wear masks and hold weapons, combining opera performance with combat between weapons, creating a local opera with a military color. Di Opera was mainly spread among ancient armies, combining leisure entertainment with military training.
Today, the Di Opera performed in Tianlong Tunbao is still by local villagers, and Di Opera masks can be seen everywhere. Many masks are hung on the walls, with vivid facial expressions. When we walk under these masks, there is a feeling of being stared at by deities, and it's a bit frightening.
Perhaps because it was drizzling when I went to Tianlong Tunbao, the sky was gloomy, and there were hardly any tourists in the ancient castle, very few people, making it seem a bit desolate. Walking among these ruins left from 600 years ago, looking at those masks with strange faces, and the large stone buildings with military colors that are completely different from the buildings we commonly see, there is always a sense of eerie atmosphere.
Tianlong Tunbao is famous for its profound Tunbao culture and 600 years of long history, and is called 'a living fossil of Ming Dynasty life' by anthropologists. It is located at the throat of the westward advance into Yunnan, and was an important post on the famous Shunyuan ancient post road during the Yuan Dynasty, known as 'Fanlong Post'.
Tianlong Tunbao is a precious treasure of ancient military architecture and a cultural relic protection unit. Friends who are interested can go and take a look.

"The living fossil of Ming Dynasty history", it was an important post station on the famous Shunyuan Ancient Post Road during the Yuan Dynasty, known as "Fanlong Post".
Today's Tunpu people still wear the long robes and large sleeves of the Ming Dynasty; they still dance the military Nuo dance of the Ming Dynasty

Guizhou Anshun | Tianlong Tunbao | Travel back to the Ming Dynasty 600 years ago
Located about an hour's drive from Anshun city center, in Tianlong Town
There is a Tunbao with a history of over 600 years. At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang dispatched troops from the north to the south and settled a large number of troops from the Jiangnan area in Tianlong Tunbao.
The people of Tunbao have always adhered to the ancestral system of the Great Ming Dynasty, and for 600 years, they have never changed. To this day, the young ladies here still wear Fengyang Hanfu, and the houses here are still built with stones as military settlements...
The terrifying passage of time seems to have spared this Tunbao, where Tianlong Tunbao hides the purest form of secluded slow living...
📍Tianlong Tunbao, Tianlong Town, Pingba District, Anshun City
Hours: 08:30-18:00
Ticket: Ancient town ticket + sightseeing car 45/person
Transportation: 🚕
What to see in Tianlong Tunbao⁉️
1⃣️The land of local opera
Here, they have a form of drama older than the national treasure Peking opera called 'Dixi', commonly known as 'jumping gods'. Performers wear traditional costumes and wooden masks🎭, singing traditional folk dramas that I don't understand
2⃣️Fengyang Hanfu
The traditional clothing of the Han people, the young ladies here still wear the traditional Ming Dynasty Hanfu known as 'Fengyang Hanfu'
Although they all wear blue robes, there are differences between married and unmarried women:
Married women—wear white headscarves with their hair up in a bun, and a black fishing waist belt
Unmarried women—wear ponytails without headscarves or belts
3⃣️Worship the God of Wealth
Here, not only is there the former residence of the folk God of Wealth Shen Wansan, but also a temple dedicated to him
4⃣️Tunbao architecture
Here, the architectural form of the Ming Dynasty is preserved, with houses built of stone as military settlements. The structure of the houses adopts the traditional Siheyuan layout, and although many buildings are dilapidated and collapsed, their unique architectural structure is still visible
If you come to Anshun, in addition to the Huangguoshu Waterfall, you can also spend half a day exploring this secluded Tunbao...
🧳Travel notes:
On the streets of Tunbao, I met a kind grandmother👵🏻 selling handmade little shoes. The ancestral ring of the grandmother really hit my aesthetic spot. Although the pattern on the ring has worn down over time, the hollow design and the sense of age that time has given this ring are truly exquisite

⛰ Tianlong Tunbao·Tiantai Mountain
🔸 Tianlong Tunbao: The ground drama, known as the 'drama living fossil', is still being performed in the Wuyutang. The actors of the ground drama wear masks and war skirts, accompanied by a gong and a drum, one person leads the singing and everyone else follows, sometimes talking and singing, sometimes fighting each other, implying that the stars descend to the earth to bless the world.
In 2006, Anshun's ground drama was listed as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage.
🔸 Tiantai Mountain: Tiantai Mountain is a solitary peak in the mountains, with cliffs on three sides, extremely steep, and only a stone step can climb to the top. The temple and the mountain are integrated, and the Ming and Qing architectural complex in the temple is also well preserved.
-
⛰ Benzhai·Yunshan Tun
Yunshan Tun, Benzhai, Leitun, Xiaoshanzhai and other eight Tunbao villages form Yunfeng Bazhai, which is the core area where the army of the early Ming Dynasty was stationed.
Each village has a village wall and a watchtower. The stone outer wall wraps the Jiangnan residential style courtyard. The lanes are connected and the households are connected. It is suitable for living and alley fighting. It is praised by scholars as the 'last fortress of the cold weapon era'.
-
⛰ Baojia Tun
Baojia Tun is the first Tunbao in the southwest of the Ming Dynasty. Through the main gate, the village wall, Wengcheng, the inner and outer eight array map, and the watchtower cleverly combine military defense and living functions. 'Advance can attack, retreat can defend', can also 'lure the enemy to go deep, defeat each', it can be described as a lot of tricks, killing everywhere.
The eight small hills outside the village form the 'Outer Eight Arrays', and the eight commanding heights rely on each other to become the front line of Baojia Tun's defense.
Now the fields outside the village are full of rapeseed flowers, walking along the village's water canal to the ancient water mill, there is a bit of the scenery of the Jiangnan water town.
