The Temple of Heaven at night, a rare sight of gentleness.
As night falls, I walk alone in the depths of Beijing, with an expectation in my heart - the night view of the Temple of Heaven, a rare sight of gentleness, is quietly waiting for my exploration. 🌟
🌈 When I set foot on this ancient and sacred land, it seemed as if I had traveled back to the prosperous times of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The red walls and blue tiles are more solemn and mysterious under the night, and every brick and stone seems to be whispering, telling the vicissitudes and glory of a thousand years. 🏮
🏛️ The Temple of Heaven, once a sacred place for emperors to worship heaven, has now become a haven for my soul. Here, the hustle and bustle of the outside world is gently isolated, leaving only the tranquility and touch of the heart, and I am closely dependent on it. 🍃
🌌 As night falls, the Temple of Heaven gradually changes into a dazzling evening dress. 20:00 to 21:00 is its most charming moment. In the interlacing of light and shadow, the design concept of "round sky and square earth" is fully displayed, which makes people indulge in this ancient and modern beauty. The inner altar and the outer altar, the circular mound altar and the prayer valley altar, one south and one north, echo each other, as if they can hear the echo of history gently ringing in their ears.
📸 As a photography enthusiast, I naturally won't miss such an opportunity. The outline of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is more charming in the night. I have already prepared a tripod, just waiting to find the best position to freeze this shocking beauty. 📷
🎟️ It is worth mentioning that the tickets for the Temple of Heaven are very friendly, only 15 yuan (April-October), which allows me to enjoy this visual feast. Although the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is not allowed to enter after 5:30 in the afternoon, the scenery outside the wall is equally wonderful, enough to make me linger.
🚗 In terms of transportation, I am also fully prepared. Whether it is self-driving, taxi, subway or bus, you can easily reach the north gate of the Temple of Heaven. Which way to choose depends entirely on my mood and itinerary that day.
🌙 When the night is completely shrouded, the Temple of Heaven is no longer just a simple scenic spot. It has become a melodious poem, a moving picture, and a time worth savoring. Here, I found my own tranquility and beauty, as if the whole world was still for me. 💖

Rejecting❌ touristy photos! Capture grand shots📷 at the Temple of Heaven by avoiding the crowd. Attached is the camera position.
As a World Heritage Site of the same age as the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven in Beijing is four times larger and is undoubtedly a must-visit 🚩 for everyone traveling to the capital. On holidays, the Temple of Heaven is crowded with people. How to avoid the crowd and take great photos? I have found some clever 📷 spots and compositions, and I am ready to share them all with you! 👇
🗺️ Tour route: Enter from the East Gate, head straight to the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, then to the Echo Wall, Circular Mound Altar, and finally exit from the South Gate.
➡️ For your convenience, the following photo spots are arranged in the order of the tour:
❶ After entering from the East Gate, you will pass a path lined with pine and cypress trees. Take a photo at the entrance of the path towards the end, resulting in an interesting inverted triangle composition;
❷ After entering the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, go to the Guxi Gate on the north side, which is the south gate of the Imperial Heaven Hall. Take advantage of the fewer people and take photos at this spot. If you can't avoid the crowd due to late entry, take several photos at a fixed spot for post-production synthesis. A wide-angle lens is better;
❸ There are too many people in front of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Use the east/west side halls as the foreground, lean against the pillar or sit on the side to take photos towards the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Blur the people in the distance in post-production;
❹ Find a long red wall next to the Prayer Gate on the side of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. There are much fewer people here. Stand by the wall, the red wall and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests under the blue sky are particularly photogenic. I love this spot;
❺ A seemingly unremarkable building next to the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the red wall, blue tiles, and roof ridge beasts are very beautiful. You can stand at the end of the railing to take photos;
❻ Looking up at the sky under the eaves of the west side hall, you will find a surprise. The corner of the eaves and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests are perfectly aligned, creating a strong sense of art;
❼ Take a low-angle shot under the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, use the railing to block the crowd, lean against the railing, and frame the three-tiered blue roof of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. It's very photogenic;
❽ When leaving the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, you can use the hollows of the railings and the gaps in the doors to block the crowd and frame the composition. You will need a medium to long focal length lens;
❾ After exiting, you can avoid the crowd and take photos of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests on the right side. It's great for shooting buildings or people;
❶⓪ The composition at the entrance of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is amazing. Tourists usually enter and exit from the side doors on both sides. The middle door is usually not open, so there are no people here. Stand in front of the red door, and the photographer steps down to take a long shot;
❶① Walk towards the west gate of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, you will see the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests inside the wall between the two trees on the lawn. This is another excellent new spot with no people;
❶② After leaving the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, walk to the Chengzhen Gate on the way to the Echo Wall. It's also nice to take photos of the Imperial Vault of Heaven through the gate frame.
🚇: Subway Line 5, Temple of Heaven East Gate Station
🎫: Ticket price is 15 yuan,
Combined ticket (including the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, Echo Wall, and Circular Mound Altar) is 34 yuan
You can buy tickets online or scan the QR code on site, and enter with your ID card
⌚️: The opening hours for the inside and outside are different
Main gate 6:00—21:00
Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests 8:00—16:30
Choose a sunny ☀️ day, the blue sky, red walls, and glazed tiles will make your photos no less stunning than those taken in the Forbidden City~

Life advice!! Before leaving Beijing, you must go see the night view of the Temple of Heaven
Share the night view of the Temple of Heaven with everyone, the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is truly stunning after the lights are turned on.
The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is the main building of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, also known as the Hall of Praying for Grain, where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed for good harvests at the beginning of spring, and is the only remaining example of ancient Mingtang-style architecture.
The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is lit up every Friday & Saturday & on public holidays. The lighting time is not fixed, it turns on simultaneously with the street lights, and the lights are turned off promptly at 21:00. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests closes at 17:00, so in winter, the night view can only be photographed from outside.
Everyone must arrange their time in advance!!
1 On the west side of the main gate of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, you can get a nearly frontal angle, a classic viewpoint
2 Directly west of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, you can capture the upper half of the building
3 Behind the west side, very close to the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, where it's usually more crowded
4 Outside the archway, where the arch and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests are framed together, creating a unique charm
5 The aforementioned viewpoints can also be taken from the east side, where there are fewer people
The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is closed on Mondays

ADELAIDE BEARD
Going to Beijing, you must visit the Temple of Heaven
💰About buying tickets, you must buy a combo ticket!! You can't enter the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests without a combo ticket, how can you take photos! The peak season is only 35, and it starts at 25 in November. You can go to take pictures of the autumn scenery or snow scenery, it must be extremely beautiful~
📍For those who drive, navigate to the Blue Sky Parking Lot - Temple of Heaven Park East Gate Parking Lot🅿️ The distance is directly into the park after parking. Note⚠️ Gaode Map can be searched directly, Baidu Map can't be searched🈚️ The parking space will be relatively tight during holidays, you can park nearby at Wumei but it seems a bit far from my observation, 1.3km from the scenic spot, just play it by ear.
🚇The subway line 5 goes directly to the east gate of the park, if you take the bus, please search for it yourself.
🔜For those who just want to check in and take photos quickly, enter from the east gate and exit from the south gate (suitable for sisters who don't drive, those who drive can only walk back to the east gate) Just take pictures and visit three scenic spots, don't go to the north and west, in fact, this is the most efficient, because the most photogenic is the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, you will understand in a second when you look at the tour route map in the park, 1h-1.5h is definitely enough for taking pictures! If you want to stroll around the park and play leisurely, you can stay for a day

Temple of Heaven
This is one of my favorite places that I had the possibility to visit across my trip in China, It is so wonderfully and magnificently designed that it seems out of this world. And it was probably even more many years ago when it wasn't crowded with tourists.
It looks unreal from outside and inside and resembles a vessel taking you directly to or communicating with Heaven or wherever whichever dimension or space time.
This art and display of timeless imagination seems to have been lost many decades ago. And it is beatifully conserve so that we can see this wonder and wonder about it.

Beijing - Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven is a must see attraction in Beijing. It’s located in a beautiful park and in addition to the famous circular temple, there are 3 additional buildings with artefacts, images and explanations.
It is very easy to reach by public transport and it was very simple to buy tickets. As I visited in the Chinese New Year holiday, it was extremely busy. I would recommend avoiding National holidays or just arriving very early.
All in all, it’s a great place to visit and another opportunity to see beautiful architecture and history in China.

A must see!
I absolutely loved seeing this! It is so beautiful and the park around it peaceful and big with the most delicious chocolate ice cream at the North Gate!
What you should know:
-Enter from the South Gate. The scenic area is one long straight walk. So this way you walk from one end to the other, instead of entering in the middle, see one side, and then backtrack to see the other side.
-Tickets can be bought at the gate. But do yourself a favor and don’t bother going to the ticket office. Scan and then it mostly has English as well. The last part is your name first then your passport number. But if you struggle just ask one of the guards…they are very friendly.
-You buy two tickets: One for the park and one for the scenic site. So you click on combination ticket.
-The souvenirs are very expensive!
-Don’t miss the two museum areas towards the north side of the scenic area. They have some really nice more detailed pictures and replicas.
-Definitely take time to walk round the park. It’s lovely and peaceful.
Hope this helps…especially those who’s Chinese isn’t that great! 😉 Enjoy!
