On my second night in Chengdu, I had to leave on a train at 6 am the next day, so I just wanted to stay somewhere for the night. I stayed at this Ritz-Carlton again. Although many people call this the Ritz-Carlton floor, I think it's actually pretty good. I think the Ritz-Carlton is more suitable for me than the W. Location: Near Tianfu Square, not far from Chunxi Road, Taikoo Li, and Kuanzhai Alley. The location is very convenient for tourists, but it's not very close to the subway station. Facilities: The facilities here are pretty good. Although they may seem old, the materials used are of good quality, especially the rooms, which are good even among the Ritz-Carlton hotels. Service: The service here is also good. Although it's not particularly outstanding in Chengdu, where service is very competitive, there's nothing wrong with it. Recreational facilities: The dry and wet steam rooms in the changing room are very comfortable, and everything else is also good. The staff's thoughtfulness and warmth surprised me. I had to rely on a wheelchair to get in and out of the hotel for the past two days, so I met the treasure manager Carter from the concierge department. He took the initiative to arrange for someone to send a crutch to my room, saying that he hoped I could walk around Chengdu by myself. In addition, when the executive courtesy car service was fully booked, Carter saw my friend pushing me to Taikoo Li in the lobby on the first floor and immediately arranged for a colleague from the concierge department to drive us there. Sandy from the breakfast restaurant remembered the breakfast she helped me get on the first day when I was having difficulty moving. My son loved the huge bathtub that had a television next to it as well as lounging around in the kid’s sized bath robe they provided. I made a reservation in advance for a beautiful spot by the window where you can take pictures and have a view of the TV tower in front of the floor-to-ceiling glass window. The dishes were much tastier than expected! The first soup was already stunning, unanimously praised, drink directly to the bottom! The flaming steak was served with a ceremonial feeling, like watching a small show. Welcome fruit was underwhelming, though they compensated with a panda plush. The gym is fully equipped and noticeably upgraded since my last visit. The standard swimming pool is complemented by well-functioning dry and wet steam rooms, and the changing rooms are clean and tidy. Thoughtful touches like ice towels and ice water outside the dry steam room, and quick-dry bathrobes inside the lockers, highlight quality and attentiveness. Although the cleaning frequency of the changing rooms is slightly low, the overall hygiene remains within an acceptable range. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: Thanks to a lucky Platinum upgrade, I stayed in a 97-square-meter Executive Suite. The cleverly designed walk-in closet naturally separates the living room from the master bedroom, with a reasonable spatial layout. Although the room shows some signs of aging due to the renovation period, such as a slight odor upon check-in and a limited view caused by adjacent residential buildings outside the living room window, the unique perspective of Tianfu Square from the sofa area and bathroom offers a special urban charm.
