Taoranting Park is located on the northwest side of Taoran Bridge on the South Second Ring Road in Beijing. • Historical Evolution: Taoranting Park was built in 1952. It is the first modern garden built in the capital Beijing after the founding of the People's Republic of China and is known as the "famous place of the capital."
• Park Overview: The total area of the park is 56.56 hectares, of which the water area is 16.15 hectares.
• Famous Attractions:
• Taoran Pavilion: Built in the 34th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1695) by Jiang Zao, the supervisor of the kiln factory at the time, in the western part of Cibei Temple. It was named "Taoran" after the poem by Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi, "Waiting for the chrysanthemums to turn yellow and the home-brewed wine to mature, let's get drunk together and be carefree."
• Cibei Temple: Founded in the Yuan Dynasty, it is an ancient temple with a long history.
• Yunhui Building: A royal garden building built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Originally located on the east bank of Zhongnanhai, it is a two-story building with painted eaves and carved beams, exquisite and beautiful. It was a place where the emperor enjoyed the view of Taiye Pool, wrote, painted, and composed poetry.
• Sai Jinhua's Tomb: Located on the south slope of Jinqiu Hill, west of Xiang Tomb and Parrot Tomb. The tomb is made of marble, with a 1.8-meter-high granite stele in front of it. The tombstone is now displayed in the stone carving exhibition room of Cibei Temple.
• Gao Junyu Martyr's Tomb: Located in a pine forest on the north slope of Jinqiu Hill on the central island of Taoranting Park. It is the burial place of Gao Junyu, an early revolutionary of our party and one of the founders of the Communist Party of China, and his girlfriend Shi Pingmei.
• Park Features: Taoranting Park has various distinctive scenic areas such as Shengchunshan House Scenic Area, Huaxia Famous Pavilion Scenic Area, Taoran Scenic Area, and Tanyingliujin Scenic Area. The famous Taoran Pavilion is located in the Taoran Scenic Area on the central island of the lake, surrounded by many famous historical sites.
