Days in Siem Reap 🇰🇭
Now I totally get why everyone’s obsessed and says, “When life hurts, Siem Reap heals.” This city just hits *different*—the soul-soothing vibes are unreal! ✨
Here’s the scoop on my 3 nights, 4 days in Siem Reap:
First pro tip: Snagged a 3-day pass for Angkor Archaeological Park (around $62, and honestly sooo worth it). This place is the ultimate bucket list legend, so if it’s not already on your radar, add it now!
The journey kicked off with a private taxi from Phnom Penh, leaving at 7:00am and rolling into Siem Reap around 1:00pm. Quick detour flex: checked out the iconic Old Kampong Kdei Bridge (Chran Chong Bridge, National Road 6, Kampong Kdei - open 24/7). Instant history nerd happiness!
Landed and headed straight for caffeine at Kanmu Cafe (No. 7, Oknha Oum Chhay St.). Trust me, it’s THE spot for cozy vibes and the perfect photo op.
Stayed at The Urban (Street 24, Wat Bo Rd.), which totally nails the modern chic look and is super central. The staff? Absolutely the sweetest. 10/10 recommend for a relaxing stay!
Temple time: Angkor Wat (Angkor Archaeological Park, open 5am–5:30pm) was calling my name. Started with an evening walk (a little spooky, not gonna lie, but totally magical), and then caught the sunrise straight after—and OMG, it’s next-level beautiful there! 🌅 Feels like you’re on another planet.
Daytime = full-on temple trekking. Started every morning at 7am to beat the heat (trust, midday is a mega scorcher, so hotel chill sessions are lifesavers). Temple stops included:
- Angkor Wat
- South Gate of Angkor Thom
- Terrace of the Elephants
- Bayon Temple
- Ta Prohm Temple
- Pre Rup Temple
- Ta Som
- Baphuon Temple
- Preah Khan Temple
For foodies: Lunch at ភោជនីយដ្ឋាន បញ្ញាខ្មែរ and Neary Khmer = flavor explosions! Wrapped up my final day with brunch at The Bean Embassy Roastery & Specialty Coffee—total aesthetic goals.
Afternoons = “coffee hunting” time. Siem Reap seriously delivers with Instagrammable cafes! Matcha Atelier and Arom Cafe both serve up serious cuteness and droolworthy drinks.
When it’s dinner time, Pub Street (Street 08, Krong Siem Reap, most spots open till late) is THE place to be. I hit up the space on Pub Street for dinner two nights in a row—it’s that good! Think neon signs, wild energy, epic street food, and all the best vacation feels.
Siem Reap’s chill pace, super-friendly locals, and community vibes totally won me over. No joke—I *will* be back! If you’re searching for a destination to unwind, heal, and seriously glow up your travel game, Siem Reap is calling your name. 🧘♂️💖
