Hokkaido Shizunai Cherry Blossom Tour❗️ I was moved by the cherry blossoms along the Nijukken Road❗️
I was impressed by the cherry blossoms along the Nijukken Road Sakura-namiki in Shizunai, Hokkaido❗️
Shizunai is famous as a major horse breeding area, but it is also famous for the cherry blossoms along the Nijukken Road Sakura-namiki.
Cherry trees are planted on both sides of the straight road that stretches for about 7 kilometers, and the distance between the cherry trees on both sides is about 20 ken (about 36 meters), which is why it got its name.
It has also been selected as one of the 100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots, 100 Best Roads in Japan, and a Hokkaido Heritage Site.
Most of the cherry trees are mountain cherry trees, and more than half are said to be nearly 100 years old.
There were also stalls set up during the cherry blossom festival, making it a very enjoyable cherry blossom stroll!

Affordable yet incredibly fresh sushi in Hokkaido!
Hokkaido is renowned for its sushi, offering prices that are budget-friendly while maintaining a level of freshness comparable to high-end sushi restaurants. The seafood in Hokkaido is plump and tender, and during this visit, 80% of the sushi options were priced under 300 yen!
The giant botan shrimp is a must-try, boasting rich flavor and a firm, springy texture. We ordered it multiple times! The fresh salmon is kept alive immediately after being caught, ensuring exceptional freshness. The restaurant is meticulous about the sushi rice, using high-quality rice produced in Hokkaido. The raw scallops from Hokkaido are uniquely sweet and have an unforgettable texture—once you try them, you'll never forget the experience.

Hokkaido Shinhitakajo
It's a nice place with a view of the Pacific Ocean, but the weather changes quickly. This is a cute town called Shinhitakajo, 1 hour and 30 minutes from Sapporo. #Hokkaido #Japan

Visit the famous spots of Shizunai, Shinhidaka Town
I visit the cherry blossom-lined road every year. This year, I went later in the year, so it wasn't in full bloom, but the late-blooming cherry blossoms were very beautiful. You can't eat Genghis Khan under the trees like in the old days, but there are now many restaurants where you can eat local Wagyu beef and other dishes. I hope that many people will enjoy it again next year. #Travelwithme #ShizunaiShinhidakamachi #CherryBlossomLinedRoad

Seven Kilometers of Hanami
#cherryblossom2024
Among the green fields, against the backdrop of the impressive Hidaka mountain range, there is the Nijukken road — an ideal place to admire the cherry blossoms in the city of Shizunai.
Recommended
To admire the cherry blossoms from early to mid-May
Arrive early to park and take a walk in peace
Do not forget water, food and a picnic mat: the length of the road is seven kilometers
It is interesting
The road was built in 1903 to get to the imperial farm
Farm workers have been transplanting trees from the mountains for three years
How to get there
The bus ride from Sapporo Station lasts three hours. Then you need to take a taxi (15 minutes on the way) or take a local bus. If you want to arrive early, rent a car.
Sakura Festival
The city of Shizunai is always beautiful, but the festival in mid—May is the main event here of the year. Arrive early to park as close as possible to the middle part of the road where the shopping pavilions are located.
You can go in any direction. After the walk, return to the pavilions, buy souvenirs and food, and then, like the locals, have a picnic under the sakura tree.
Neighbourhood
Near the eastern end of the Nijukken Road is the Ryuunkaku Manor, an elegant traditional building that is more than a hundred years old. Guests are allowed here during the festival. Take the chance to admire the beautiful architecture and listen to ancient music.

Winter Hidaka Observatory
On the way from the Hidaka area to the Urakawa area, we passed a slightly elevated area and found this observation deck. It was a great observation deck overlooking the Hidaka area. This season, the area is covered in pure white snow. Clouds were rolling in as they crashed into the Hidaka mountain range.
