Ancient Shepherds Stone Hut
Once quite a common site, especially in the north of Malta in times gone by shepherds hut served an important function, as a place of shelter and protection. This one found on the Xemxija Heritage Trail is particularly well preserved with many original features such as a water trough, stone roof drain and a stone loop for tying horses. Fascinating glimpse into ancient rural life.

Ruins of Roman Baths
These ruins of an ancient Roman baths were only discovered relatively recently in the year 2000 when maintenance work was taking place in the area. Originally the bars would’ve had a series of rooms with pools of different temperatures and probably even saunas, all cut into the rock! Before that, the caves would’ve been used as a burial site. During the 17th century an arched doorway was added and the baths would have become a farmhouse.

This trip
This trip to Malta came to this Chinese restaurant to eat twice, the restaurant is located in the first row of the sea, sitting by the window position completely unobstructed, the view is quite beautiful, the quality of Chinese food is also very good, highly recommended for those who want to eat Chinese food

Celebrating Sundays: Pub Lunch
What better way to enjoy a beautiful sunny summer Sunday afternoon then to enjoy a good pub lunch with friends? I often work a lot at the weekends so it really felt like a wonderful celebration to be able to enjoy the afternoon with good friends and good food. The pub is part of the Damare Resort and Spa but it’s open to both guests and non-guests

Valentines Dinner
Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a posh dinner so we went to have our dinner at a restaurant that we scouted out during the day, an Italian restaurant called Apulia part of the Damare Resort and Spa. The restaurant’s menu that looked amazing and it had great views of St Pauls Bay. We were not disappointed, the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Tasty Treats on Valentine’s Day
After exploring the nature reserve, we decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea. The afternoon tea at Terryberry Tearoom in Xemxija in the north of Malta is quite famous locally. It’s especially popular with expats and other locals. They have a wide range of food including hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and cakes, focusing mainly on breakfast and lunches.

Enjoying Nature on Valentine’s Day
On Valentine’s Day, we had beautiful weather, so we decided to visit a local nature reserve. The Simar Nature Reserve was created in the 1990s when an artificial wetland habitat was made in an abandoned Marshland. There was a lies with a special protection area which is designated a wetland of international importance due to all the different types of migratory birds that stopover in the reserve.

Celebrating History, Heritage and Culture
The Xemxija Heritage Trail really is a celebration of Maltese history, culture and heritage, almost in a microcosm. The Xemxija Heritage Trail follows an old Roman road, along the route you can see Punic Temple ruins, old cave dwellings, apiaries, World War II pillboxes, ancient cart ruts, ruins of ancient Roman baths and so much more and that’s not to mention the stunning views!

Celebratory Strolls: Xemxija Promenade
A lovely area for a stroll with that special someone is a walk along Xemxija promenade taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling little corner of Malta. Here you can get wonderful views across the bay and are able to see all the way to the National Aquarium in Bugibba, stop off at the Pitstop Café for coffee, sandwiches, snacks or ice cream. Make sure you check out the old public water spring too, quite a unique feature in Malta.

Wedding Breakfast
On the morning of my friends wedding, we decided to start off the celebrations early with an actual wedding breakfast. We chose to go to the Xemxija Café Lounge located in Xemxija in the north of Malta or its relaxed vibe, good prices, convenient location and great views overSaint Paul’s Bay Of course we had a little glass or two or bubbly, it was a great way to start the celebrations of this wonderful day.

Celebratory Strolls: Bugibba
A lovely way to celebrate any occasion is to take a stall along the promenade of a he town of Bugibba in Malta. The promenade is lined with majestic palm trees. you have beautiful views over the bay and across to St Pauls Island in the distance. Maybe you have that special someone that you want to spend some quality time with on a special day such as a birthday or anniversary and the promenade along Bugibba Bay is a great place to celebrate time with loved ones

the hotel
the hotel was a good hotel and it was in a good location the staff was very friendly and the food was okay good size balcony the bathroom needs a bit of an upgrade but it wasn't too bad of a room for a 4 star hotel
the outside side pool is in the wrong location it's shaded so the water is cold, the jacuzzi jets need to be repaired and the sauna wasn't working
🏖️Ambiance/Facilities:there is loads of local shops, car museum, restaurants and bars all in walking distance. also walk about 5 minutes to get to the bus station and there is a aquarium closed by plus there are some amazing views
it's worth getting the ferry to gozo as well

Chinese and Sushi Horror
Restaurant Review: Chinese and Sushi in the Square
I decided to try the Chinese and Sushi spot in the square, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience.
Service:
From the start, the service was frustrating. When I asked what was included in the set menu, the staff had no idea. I even asked about the ingredients in a specific vegetable item, and the response was the same—they didn’t know. When I requested to speak to the chef, I was told that even he wouldn’t know. A co-worker then came over with an attitude and told me to Google it! While I did end up figuring out that the item was called Sasome (a triangle-shaped spring roll), the lack of basic knowledge and dismissive attitude was shocking.
Food:
When the food arrived, it was cold, and worse, they didn’t include all the items listed in the set menu. Both the Sasome and the chicken that were supposed to be included were missing. When I raised the issue, they flatly refused to let me speak to a manager or provide the owner’s contact information. Instead, they took the tray and walked away without resolving anything.
Cleanliness:
As if the poor service and cold food weren’t enough, as I was leaving, I spotted a large bug crawling across the floor. When I pointed it out to the staff, they laughed, showing complete disregard for hygiene and customer concern.
Conclusion:
This restaurant failed on all fronts—service, food quality, and cleanliness. Being told to Google ingredients, having items missing from my order, and encountering a bug on the premises made this an unforgettable experience for all the wrong reasons. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. 0/5 stars.

The Malta Experience continues.
Last post was me dancing in the fabulous hotel in St. Paul’s Bay, Malta. This post is all about swimming pool and food!
As blues as the sky, the rooftop swimming pool is a place to treat yourself a nice and chilled rest, with the constant playing 2000’s selective mashup songs, like some Britney Spears haha!
The inexpensive food option is also a treat in Malta. The full course of meal only costs around 20 Euros, with appetizer (Shrimp Cocktail), steak, and dessert. Perfect way to wrap up a night in Malta!

Malta, Crystal Blue Waters and Adventures
When visiting Malta the island offers a variety of tourist attractions ranching from exploring the cities, hiking the coast lines or finding hidden attractions. The city I stayed in was St Paul’s Bay which had a couple of food options but was a great location with hiking routes to different towns that had better options. Public Transport is very easy to use in Malta and can be used to get around from town to town.
When visiting Malta I would recommend exploring the coastlines as various World War 2 look out points and bunkers are located across the island creating a constant intrigue around what you will see next, another point of interest is PopEye’s Village the intact filming location. Malta’s coastlines and blue waters will satisfy any beach lover and provides scenery unique to the island. Finally taking a trip to Valetta is a must and the various churches Malta has to offer is also intriguing.

Malta
Malta, another tiny island with lots to do in the summer. Great for a European getaway with water-sports such as jet skiing, scuba diving and also island hopping. Be sure to try their famous food such as pastizzi and visit the two connected islands, Gozo and Comino. Really easy to get to with the ferries and great weather. Plenty of beaches available on all islands.

If you go to Malta, you must visit the beach club Cafe Del Mar
A beautiful and atmospheric beach club spread out next to the beach
A place where you can order a bottle of wine without feeling burdened because the price is cheap
A place where you can enjoy the day and the evening
