A two-day tour is generally recommended for Wuyuan, with one day each for the eastern and northern routes! Since I wanted to stay overnight in the Huangling Scenic Area, I opted for a one-day village tour. Departing at 8:30 AM from the Orange Hotel near Wuyuan High-Speed Rail Station, the itinerary included Sixi-Yan Village, Zhang Village, Hongguan, Chaguan, Qingyuan, Longwei, Shangtan, and finally Huangling! We skipped lunch and arrived at the Huangling Visitor Center around 2 PM to check in. The stretch from Chaguan to Qingyuan involves crossing a mountain with winding roads, so choosing an experienced and steady driver for this route is crucial! Only Sixi-Yan Village charges an entrance fee along this route. The village is rich in historic architecture, offering a different charm compared to the free villages later on. I recommend visiting (see photos 2 to 6)! The best photo spot in Chaguan Village is slightly to the left of the arched bridge. With low water levels this season, you can cross the river directly below without using the bridge. During our visit, there were two cows, and an elderly man tried to charge us 40 yuan, but our driver intervened. Each village has its highlights, but we moved quickly as we weren’t keen on photography. By 3 PM, we had already checked into the Yishanju Hotel in Huangling.
