The Seikado Bunko Art Museum is an East Asian art museum located in the Setagaya district of Tokyo. The museum was created by Yanosuke Iwasaki, the second president of Mitsubishi. The three characters Jingjiatang are the studio names of corporate leaders. In the 1890s, Yanosuke began collecting art and manuscripts. After that, the collection was continued by his son, Koyata Iwasaki, the fourth president of Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation. In 1940, Xiaoyata established the Jingjiatang Foundation and opened the Jingjiatang Library with a personal collection of 80,000 Japanese volumes and 120,000 Chinese volumes. In 1992, in commemoration of the centenary of the Jingjiatang Bunko Art Museum Collection, the museum galleries were opened to the public. The Jingjiatang Bunko Art Museum houses 6,500 books, artworks and other cultural treasures. The museum also houses a large permanent collection, as well as collections that are only partially on display at any one time.
