#Japan Attractions After an interesting approach to the temple, you will arrive at Jindaiji Temple, which has a long history. It is the second most ancient temple in Tokyo after Sensoji Temple. The Sanmon Gate is the oldest existing building in Jindaiji Temple. The core of the temple, the Main Hall, houses a statue of Amitabha Buddha. It was originally burned down in a fire during the Edo period and was later rebuilt during the Taisho period. Lions, dragons and elephants are carved on the beams and pillars, and phoenixes are carved under the windshields, reflecting the architectural features of the Edo period. The Shakado Hall next to the main hall enshrines the Hakuho Buddha, a national treasure of Japan, and there is a fee for visiting. The Gensandaishi Hall houses a statue of Jikedaishi (Gensandaishi) from the Heian period, commemorating his achievements on Mount Hiei. I visited Kitaro Teahouse and Jindaiji Temple. Kitaro Teahouse was very cute as you can see in the picture. There were a lot of goods for sale, so I recommend that fans visit. Jindaiji Temple features not only its main hall but also the Gansan Daishi Hall, where the statue of Gansan Daishi is currently on display. Although the statue is traditionally unveiled only once every 50 years, this special exhibition celebrates the completion of the Reiwa-era major restoration. The statue, created during the Kamakura period in response to the Mongol invasions, depicts Gansan Daishi in a seated meditation pose. Standing at an impressive height of 195 cm, it is Japan's largest portrait sculpture. Its striking black sheen and intense gaze leave a powerful impression. Gansan Daishi, also known as Ryogen, was a historical figure from the 10th century who revitalized Mount Hiei and was renowned for his ability to ward off misfortune. The Kaku Daishi figure, which gained renewed attention during the COVID-19 pandemic, is considered an incarnation of Gansan Daishi. #aprilblooms A temple with a long history founded in the 5th year of Tenpyeong (733). It is famous as a temple to ward off bad luck and matchmaking. The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, a national treasure, is enshrined in the Shakyamuni Hall. Spring water came out of the lush green Jindaiji precincts, and soba making developed along with abundant water sources. There are more than 20 soba restaurants in the surrounding area, and it has become a specialty. In addition to the New Year's visit and Setsubun, it is crowded with a large number of people during events such as the Daruma Market held on March 3rd and 4th every year, the "Onito Festival" in summer (around the end of July every year), and the Soba Festival in autumn.

Fried food lovers must not miss this restaurant, Tonkatsu Hajime, located in Tokyo, Nihonbashi area. When we went, we had to wait in line for 1 hour. I recommend coming before the restaurant opens to be the first in line. Or you can book in advance through the website. Check it out! But if the line is too long, try checking another branch, which is only 160m away. When you wait in line, they will give you a menu and take your order. When you get to the restaurant, you will get your food right away. It's sooo fast! They have many types of pork to choose from. The pork is big and thick, but very soft. The eggs are also very good. They melt in your mouth. It's so good. We ordered some shrimp and it was very delicious. The restaurant fries it very well and it doesn't absorb oil at all.
