Getting There - Book your ferry in advance to this island, departing from Fremantle, Perth Attractions - The Basin, Salmon Bay, Wadjemup and Bathurst Lighthouses, Pinky beach, Henrietta Rocks and many many more!! Things to do - 1.Snorkle or Dive at little Salmon Bay and/or Parker point! ( you can rent your equipments in the rental shop upon reaching the island near the visitor centre ) 2. Relax on some Rotto famous beaches ( there 60 over secluded beaches and 20 over bays on this island, each with spectacular view ) 3. Visit Oliver Hill Guns and Tunnels (history from second world war if you care to explore more ) 4. Join a heritage / cultural tour around the island to understand more 5. Rent your own bike and explore! ( there's electric bikes for rental too, for people who can't manage sooooo many uphill climbs of the island, and yes that's me) 6. QUOKKA SELFIE!!! This is a must on this island! it's my second time on this island already, and will definitely recommend everyone and anyone to visit if you're in perth! it's really a superb getaway from the city hustle!

Rottnest Island is not very big, if you just want to come and find Quokka, in fact, the early boat to the late boat away is enough, and we chose to stay one night at that time~ The roads to this small island are easy to find and you can actually explore the whole island very quickly by bike. But on the way to meet Quokka, it will be delayed a lot of time! Because they are really too cute, and gossip and relatives, they will take the initiative to come to find you, so selfie is not difficult! But Rottnest Island has many beautiful scenery worth seeing besides Quokka, so be sure to schedule some time to cycle around! And the most recommended of them is. This time, I'll be introducing Rottnest Island, located just an hour by train and boat from Perth, Australia's western coast! This island is also known as "Quokka Island." That's because the island is home to a large population of wild quokkas, known as the happiest animals in the world because their smiling faces resemble smiles. ♪ I visited on a day trip, so I'll introduce a plan that lets you fully enjoy the island. ☺️ 📍Directions ① Perth → Fremantle (30 minutes by train) 　Fremantle → Rottnest Island (30 minutes by boat) ※Total time: about 1 hour ② Perth → Rottnest Island (2-2.5 hours by boat) My recommendation is option ①! The port town of Fremantle is a beautiful place, and you can watch the sunset and have a meal on the way back! (For more details, please refer to my previous post about Fremantle.) ※The boat to Rottnest Island is quite bumpy!!! If you get seasick, be sure to bring medicine with you. The rear of the boat is less likely to rock, so it might be a good idea to sit in the back. 💭 Also, the boat arrives 30 minutes before departure. Since seating is unreserved, we recommend arriving early! 📍Plans after arriving First, head to the center of the island. About a five-minute walk from the deck, you'll find a collection of restaurants, gelato shops, supermarkets, bakeries, and more! Once there, you'll be greeted by a sea of ​​quokkas. 🤍 I recommend starting by walking around. 🙆 After that, why not try renting a bicycle about a five-minute walk south?
