Evening Walk at Pasig River Esplanade
During my stay in Manila, I visited the Pasig River Esplanade — a refreshing spot in the busy city. The riverside walkway is a pleasant place for an evening stroll, with views of the flowing river, city lights, and a calmer side of Metro Manila.
It’s not as large as some other riverfronts in Asia, but it offers a peaceful escape from traffic and noise. The breeze from the river and the chance to simply walk, sit, and enjoy the surroundings made the visit worthwhile.
If you’re in Pasig or nearby, the Esplanade is a good spot for a short break and a relaxing walk along the river.

Strolling the Pasig River Esplanade: Manila’s Chill Urban Oasis 🚶♂️🌊🌄
Discover Manila’s rhythm at the Pasig River Esplanade—a breezy riverside promenade perfect for sunset walks, local eats, and city views! This spot blends urban scenery with laid-back charm, making it the new must-go for street food fans and photo-lovers alike.
🧭 Recommended Route & Experiences:
Start at OFBank Center (1000 Liwasang Bonifacio, Ermita, Manila), and head north along the riverside. Catch golden hour by the river for a serene vibe and sparkling cityscape shots. Choose a spot on a bench or grassy patch and watch boats glide by, feeling city life soften into a chill retreat.
🍢 Must-Do Eats & Activities:
Don’t miss the street food stalls—maganda maraming street foods! Grab some fish balls, kwek-kwek, and ice-cold sago’t gulaman. Bring small bills and try a little of everything. If you’re up for it, join locals doing sunset jogs or music jam sessions on weekends.
📸 Insta-Worthy Angles:
Snap the Esplanade’s arches as the sky turns orange. Pose by the colorful murals or with the river reflecting city lights—especially lovely in early evening. Capture local life: kids playing, vendors, passing ferries.
🔎 Practical Tips & Precautions:
Esplanade is open daily; late afternoon is best for comfort and vibe. It’s a safe spot, but keep an eye on personal belongings and avoid flashing valuables. Light rain is common, so pack a rain jacket instead of an umbrella (wind + river = flying umbrellas!). Weekends draw crowds—visit on a weekday for a more peaceful stroll!

Lovers' riverscape
This is the newly opened Pasig River Esplanade, along the stretch of Ilog Pasig or Pasig River. The purpose of such establishment is to recreate the "renewal" and celebration of life of the once dead Pasig River. The whole stretch of the esplanade showcases lamp posts with yellow, romantic light alongside with lighted water fountains and Filipino inspired statues. The colorful stretch of lamp posts and fountain lights and the romantic feels it portray are what attracts people to visit the place. #voyagevibes #myhiddengems #traveldiaries #cityscapes

The revitalization of Pasig River and the optimism to bring back life mirrors the life it portrays at night, as represented by the yellow lights from the array of lamp posts, colorful fountains and Filipino cultural statues along its stretch. #voyagevibes #pasigriveresplanade #jonesbridge #traveldiaries #myhiddengems
