#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025 The mysterious donut "I'm donut?" that has become popular in Fukuoka, Kyushu is so popular that it has opened several branches in Tokyo. This time we visited the Nakameguro store where there is less queueing. It is located next to the Tsutaya bookstore on the first floor of Nakameguro Station. If you go there early in the morning, you have to queue for about 5 minutes. You can check the menu and the flavors while waiting in line, so it's pretty smooth. I'm donut? is baked on site, and you can admire the production process through the glass window, just like the window display of Din Tai Fung. It is quite soothing to look at. This is SIDE WALK STAND, a coffee shop in Nakameguro. It is a 6-minute walk from Nakameguro Station and there are shops along the Nakameguro River. It's like ordering on the 1st floor and sitting on the 2nd floor. I was surprised when I went up to the second floor, but it was no ordinary chair. I'm not calm because it's a bit odd like a designer room. I thought it was a concrete chair by the wall and a big table in the middle. Tokyo is such a large city that there are many places to visit, but one of the most famous places is probably #Nakameguro (#中目黑 / #Nakameguro). Of course, the purpose of my Tokyo tour this time wasn't cherry blossoms, but since I was nearby, I looked for them just in case, and I was disappointed to hear that if I had come a week later, the cherry blossoms would have bloomed. However, I imagined what it would be like if the cherry blossoms bloomed here, and I looked forward to the next time. Well... Was the first time going to Nakameguro, feeling like we were one of the local people when wandering around the small restaurants, stores and art galleries (not the chain stores in those malls). The place has tresses along with the river, I believe it’s a nice place when sakura blossoms in spring. Came here for a try to the famous beef sandwich, the restaurant has a table for 6 persons. We had picked three kinds of beef sandwiches and found that their signature wagyu sandwich is the best among those other 10 kinds of sandwiches, their dry aged sandwich wasn’t bad though. The sandwiches were prepared right after we placed the order which is juicy and hot enough. Chef’s English is good and explains well for those foods in the menu. If you are not scheduled to visit Tokyo, try their branch restaurant in Wanchai 😊

#tokyo Being one of the top spot to view Cherry Blossoms, Naka Meguro is also my favourite spot to stroll aroung enjoying the beauty of the pink blossoms. Every year there is a Cherry Blossom festival where hundreds of stalls will be set up for visitors to eat and drink while viewing the Cherry blossoms. This 2km stretch has thousands of trees lining up and the full bloom is marvelous and scenic, especially when taking a picture of the flowers on both side of the river while standing on the bridge. Definitely a must go when visit Tokyo during spring season.
