Chongqing Ling Loong Nanyang Teochew Cuisine Review
Chongqing Ling Loong Nanyang Teochew Cuisine at Luzu Temple Review 伶隆 · 南洋潮州菜(鲁祖庙店) — Family Lunch Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Date of visit: September 2025
With: My family (adults and kids)
What made it special:
We had a wonderful lunch at Linglong · Nanyang Chaozhou Cuisine (Luzu Temple Branch). From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere charmed us — the blend of retro Nanyang decor with classic Chaozhou touches (think warm lighting, green-tiled walls, wooden accents) made for a cozy but stylish setting. Perfect both for family time and photos.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Standouts included the Chaozhou-style “sheng yan” raw‐marinated seafood, which was exceptionally fresh and delicately balanced; a curry or coconut‐influenced fish dish (if they have it that day) that hinted at Southeast Asian flavors; and classic Chaozhou soups and stir‐fries that were rich, comforting, and not over‐seasoned — ideal for those who appreciate subtlety. For kids, they offered milder dishes that were still tasty, which was appreciated.
Service was attentive without being overbearing. Staff were friendly, explained the menu options, and made sure our water glasses were refilled. The pace was relaxed, which is important for a family lunch.
Recommendation:
Must‐try dishes:
Chaozhou raw marinated seafood (“生腌”)
Any fish prepared with a light Nanyang influence
Chaozhou soups and stir‐fries (vegetables + light protein)
For dessert (if available): something refreshing, perhaps a fruit‐based or coconut dessert that complements the meal
Best time to go:
Lunchtime on weekdays tends to be quieter. Weekends may be busy, so an early lunch or a reservation helps.
Bring: good appetite, camera (for the décor), and cash/phone payment options.
Address & How to Get There
Address:
Linglong · Nanyang Chaozhou Cuisine (Luzu Temple Branch)
Located in the Luzu Temple (鲁祖庙) area, Chongqing.
How to reach:
If using public transit, take the nearest subway line or bus that stops around Luzu Temple. Once you exit near Luzu Temple, it’s a short walk — you’ll see signage for Nanyang Chaozhou Cuisine; the distinctive décor (green tiles, woodwork, lanterns) helps.
If by car or taxi, show the Chinese name “伶隆·南洋潮州菜(鲁祖庙店)” or ‘Linglong Nanyang Chaozhou Cuisine, Luzu Temple’. GPS apps in Chongqing should recognize it in the Luzu Temple neighborhood.
Parking: Depending on the time, local street parking may be possible; some nearby parking lots might exist — arriving a little earlier helps to secure a spot.
Tips & Final Thoughts
Dress comfortably but casually — the restaurant has a pleasant ambience, so something neat helps.
If you love seafood, don’t hesitate to order multiple “sheng yan” or raw/marinated seafood items — they are fresh and a highlight.
Ask the server what’s fresh or special that day — sometimes the chef’s recommendations are the best way to try something unique.
Bring grandparents or kids: there are milder options, not just the spicy or heavy ones.
If taking photos, seat by the windows or near the decorative walls — the light and background are very photogenic.
