Family Trip - Lake Sevan
Lake Sevan is the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region. The lake is situated in Gegharkunik Province, at an altitude of 1,900.44 m or 6,235 ft above sea level. So It is one of the largest freshwater high-altitude (alpine) lakes in Eurasia.
I always loved swimming in the cool water of Sevan, it was one of my favorite destinations in Armenia since I was a child. Now every time when I stand on the shore of the lake, it brings up a lot of good and warm childhood memories.
You can find several old church around the lake but the most popular one among tourists is (Sevanavank) located on a peninsula at the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan.

Lake Sevan, the largest lake in Armenia.
Lake Sevan🏞️The largest mountain lake in the Caucasus and a famous tourist attraction. The name of the lake is derived from the Armenian word "black temple" because there is an ancient temple built with black materials in the 4th century on a small island in the northwest corner of the lake. Lake Sevan is known as the "Mirror of the Caucasus". The surface of the lake reflects the white clouds in the sky☁️ and the snow-capped peaks on the ground⛰️, like a cut piece of blue sky🌤️ spread among the mountains. Sevan Monastery, also called the "Black Monastery", was built in the 9th century AD📅

🇦🇲Armenia|A country of faith that subverted my understanding
Before I came to Armenia, my understanding of Armenia was limited to the misery and darkness of thousands of years of catastrophe, but after I came to Yerevan, this country completely overturned my impression of it❗️
Armenia🇦🇲 is located between the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, at the foot of Mount Ararat where Noah's Ark docked. Nowadays, Yerevan has fashion and art, and the Soviet atmosphere can be seen everywhere, and the mysterious medieval monasteries, beautiful cross stones and Lake Sevan around Yerevan are even more charming❤️
🔵City Walk🔵1-2 days🔵
🔸Yerevan Cascade Yerevan Grand Staircase (Picture 2-5)
Visiting Yerevan without going to the Yerevan Stairs is like going to Paris without going to the Eiffel Tower🗼. The entire staircase is actually a modern art exhibition hall, divided into five floors, and you can take the escalator up. Each floor has an indoor exhibition hall that presents modern art works such as sculptures and paintings by local Armenian artists. Outside the stairs, each level has creative fountains and sculptures full of artistic spirit👍🏻
🌟Yerevan Opera House (Picture 15)
The Yerevan Opera House and France Square are actually a crossroads. The statue of the French painter erected in the center of the circular square was a gift donated by the French government and was created by the famous Auguste Rodin.
🔸Echmiadzin Cathedral Echmiadzin⛪️ (Picture 8-11)
❤️The earliest church in the world, which has stood for more than 1,700 years. The museum in the cathedral houses many legendary and mythical treasures, including fragments of Noah's Ark and fragments of the cross riveted to Jesus, etc.
🚗Transportation: Taking a taxi from Yandex in the city costs about 💰2400 drams (approximately 42 RMB) and it is worth a visit👍🏻
🔸Saint Gayane Church (Picture 12)
Right next to the Etchmiadzin Church, I was so lucky to meet a couple holding a wedding that day. They enthusiastically took photos with us and gave us lucky chocolates and small gifts🎁Every corner is filled with tranquility and sanctity😇
🔸Republic Square Republic Square (Picture 13-14)
The exterior walls of many buildings throughout the square are pink. As night falls, the commercial street bars and restaurants are very lively. Although Armenia's economic aggregate is not large, the life of the locals is still very exquisite, the city is clean and tidy, and the public security is also very good.
🟠Surrounding tour🟠
There are many famous and unique monasteries scattered around Armenia⛪️
One-day tour with travel agency "Hyru" 💰9900 drams (approximately SGD 35)
Itinerary👉🏻Lake Sevan--Dilijan town (short stop)--Goshavank Monastery--Haghartsin Monastery
🌟Sevan Lake🌊 (Picture 6-7)
Blue tears of the Caucasus💧
SEVANAVANK Monastery Sevan means "black temple", and Lake Sevan is also named after this. Picturesque all seasons🎨
🌟Dilijan Town (Picture 17)
One of the oldest towns in Armenia, although it was damaged in the earthquake, it is now recovering well. There are many interesting sculptures, the people in the town are also very smart, and there are many craftsmen producing various gadgets.
🌟Goshavank Monastery (Picture 16 on top)
A typical example of architecture from the 12th to 13th centuries, it was built by medieval Armenian rulers.
🌟Haghartsin Monastery (picture 16 below)
The ancient Byzantine monastery was an important center of learning during the Kiurikian dynasty (10th-13th centuries). The design of the conical roof of the monastery is also an outstanding representative of Armenian religious architecture from the 10th to 13th centuries.
✔️Armenia is the last stop in the Caucasus. I have so much to say. Faith and culture have never changed due to different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. On the contrary, every time they know that I am Chinese, they will be in awe🫡 and say: China is the best👍🏻I instantly broke my guard. How grateful I am to the great motherland and world peace for allowing me to feel the beauty and warmth of this world❤️

The Beauty of Armenia
Lake Sevan in Armenia is amazing place in the winter and the summer for relaxing enjoy your trip !!!

Venturing into the oil-painting-like Lake Sevan | Armenia of my dreams!
| Armenia of my dreams! 🇦🇲 About 60 kilometers drive in Armenia, there is a place like an oil painting, called Lake Sevan, known as the "Blue Tear of the Caucasus", it is a plateau freshwater lake, accounting for three percent of the total area of Armenia, almost half the size of Dongting Lake. You can join a day tour, if there are many people, you can also rent a car directly in Yerevan and play all the way~
🌜For more than two thousand years, countless churches and castles have been built along the lake, and the ancient Silk Road also passed through here. Unfortunately, the sky was not beautiful this time, I didn't see the blue tears, I saw the gray tears💧, it is another scene~
🔥Attractions:
1, Sevanavank Monastery⛪
Sevan Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places of Lake Sevan, and Sevanavank Monastery (Sevanavank) is a landmark monastery complex located on the peninsula at the northwest corner of Lake Sevan, composed of two monasteries, one means saints, one means the Virgin,
⛪The monastery was founded in 874 AD, and has withstood the test of time⚡, still as strong as ever, making people feel as if they have returned to medieval Europe in an instant. The monastery is built by the lake, 🍂The yellow leaves in autumn and the black monastery are like an oil painting against the "blue tears"💧, it's so beautiful, walking by the lake will also make you feel calm!

Sevan: Navy Blue Water Lake
Where: Lake Sevan, Gegharkunik, Armenia
This lake is absolutely clear and transparent. In Summer it looks like navy blue. Surrounded by mountains it has a perfect view to the horizon. There are public and private beaches where you can swim. If you want less crowded area then better go to Shorzha area.
I enjoyed staying in the tent by the beach listening to the sound of waves and looking at the start sky.

To the south, Hayravank Monastery overlooks the lake from a rocky outcrop. Noratus Cemetery has hundreds of carved stone khachkar memorials. Odzaberd is a ruined fortress built by the Urartian civilization in the 8th century BC.
