An urban oasis just outside Hamamatsucho Station. Relax and unwind in the Kyu-Shiba Rikyu Gardens.
Kyu-Shiba Rikyu Gardens is a metropolitan garden located on the coast of Minato-ku, Tokyo, and is known as one of the feudal lord gardens of the early Edo period. The garden features a stroll-style garden with a pond at its center, where you can enjoy seasonal flowers and beautiful scenery.  
Basic information:
Location: 1-4-1 Kaigan, Minato-ku, Tokyo 
Opening hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (entry until 4:30 PM) 
Closed: Year-end and New Year holidays (December 29th - January 1st of the following year) 
Admission fee: 150 yen for adults, 70 yen for those 65 years old and older (free for elementary school students and younger, and junior high school students living and studying in Tokyo)

1 minute walk from the north exit of Hamamatsucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line and Keihin Tohoku Line
Highlights:
Stroll-style garden with a pond: There is a large pond in the center of the garden, and you can enjoy a variety of scenery while strolling around the pond.
Stonework and Tsukiyama: The garden is decorated with stonework that imitates the banks of the scenic Chinese lake "West Lake" and a mound that represents Mount Horai. 
Seasonal flowers: Cherry blossoms, wisteria, azaleas, and other flowers bloom in every season, delighting visitors. 
This garden was built in the early Edo period as the upper residence of the senior councilor Okubo Tadatomo and was named "Rakujuen". Later, in the Meiji period, it became the property of the Arisugawa family, and was further purchased by the Imperial Household Ministry and became "Shiba Rikyu". It was damaged in the Great Kanto Earthquake, but was bestowed upon the city of Tokyo in commemoration of the marriage of Emperor Showa, and has been open to the public since 1924 (Taisho 13).  
From the Takeshiba Pier on the east side of the garden, ferries and dinner cruises around Tokyo Bay depart, which can be enjoyed in combination with a stroll through the garden.
