Keio park in spring
#springwander
At Keio Hyakusoen, you can enjoy the trees, plants and flowers that are at their best in every season throughout the year. This garden, which has been loved by people since the Edo period, is a place where you can feel the traditional beauty of Japan with thatched roof buildings, bamboo fences, and hermitages on a vast site of 26,000 square metres.
It is the season of plum blossoms and autumn leaves, which is especially crowded with many people. From February to March, 500 plum trees of about 50 species, including rare varieties such as "As You wish" and "Moon Shadow", are in full bloom, and the "Plum Festival" is held every year. Sweets such as jelly, jam, and baked sweet potatoes made from plums harvested in the park are also sold.
