[Enjoy spring to the fullest★] Suijinen
We had lunch at Suijinen, a restaurant in Jindaiji, Mitaka.
We had the spring-only cherry blossom viewing banquet.
It was a course meal, but the portions were just right and even my elderly family members finished it all.
And from start to finish, it was full of spring ingredients, so we could feel spring all at once.
We were able to enjoy spring ingredients such as cherry blossoms, bamboo shoots, sawara, bracken, and rape blossoms.
For the meal, we could choose bamboo shoot rice or sakura soba (we could also choose nihachi soba), and the sakura soba was pink soba with a cherry blossom flavor and was delicious.
It was a satisfying meal with everything from dessert to dessert.
Suijinen is a little far from the nearest station, but they provided a shuttle to the station on the way back (reservation required)

[Famous for Jindaiji Soba] Jindaiji
It is said to be Japan's largest ward off evil spirits and the oldest national treasure Buddha in eastern Japan.
Access is a little difficult, and it is a little far to walk from any station, so I recommend going by bus or taxi.
The grounds are large and you can spend a very relaxing time there.
It gets very crowded during the New Year's visit period, but it was easy to visit in March.
There are many restaurants near Jindaiji Temple, but they are all lined up at lunchtime, so I recommend going early.

Don't go to Sensoji Temple to see the crowds when you come to Tokyo. Go to Mori Daiji Temple instead.
Don't go to Sensoji Temple to see the crowds when you come to Tokyo. Go to Mori Daiji Temple instead.
Jindaiji Temple is located in Chofu City, a suburb of Tokyo. It has a quiet environment and is also the second hometown of Shigeru Mizuki, the author of the manga Gegege no Kitaro. Mori Daiji Temple has a history of more than 1,300 years and is one of the oldest temples in Tokyo, second only to Sensō-ji Temple. Because it is located in the suburbs, compared with Sensō-ji Temple, Jindaiji Temple is less prosperous and noisy, and has a more tranquil and elegant feel, making it the most ideal place for suburban tourism in Tokyo.
Kaijindaiji Temple is the only temple in Tokyo that has a National Treasure Buddha as of 2017, and it enshrines the "Bronze Statue of Shakyamuni Nyorai (Hakuho Buddha)" which is designated as a National Treasure. nearby
As the weekend approaches, many people are attracted by the natural scenery around the temple and the famous Jindaiji soba.
Attracted by wheat noodles, the whole family came here to play, and it was very lively. In addition, the adjacent Jindai Botanical Gardens, which opened in 1961, are well-known as an ideal place for Tokyo residents to stroll and relax.
Jindaiji Temple is famous for its abundant natural springs. Since ancient times, residents have believed in the water god. The name of Jindaiji Temple also comes from Fukasawa Daiou, who has a close relationship with the water god. You will find many ancient wooden water wheels around the temple. Although the water quality here is very good, the land is not suitable for growing rice, so the local people can only grow buckwheat and offer buckwheat flour to the temple. The temple made buckwheat flour into noodles to entertain the believers, and the delicious taste spread, and the history of "Jindaiji Soba" began.

Beautiful Buddhist temple
#tokyotrip
My local friend bought me to visit the historical Jindaiji Temple.I was told that the temple was erected in 733 and the main entrance was built in 1695 , it has stood there for 300 years . It is the oldest surviving structure in the temple, as all other buildings burned down in 1865. The famous Statue of Hakuhoh Buddha (592-710 Asuka period) is a National Treasure now.
A beautiful place that is full of history ! Will go there again , love the peacefulness there !
If you are in tokyo is completely worthy to take the time to come and visit.

Just second to Sensoji Temple in age, yet it possesses a national treasure Buddha statue.
Jindaiji Temple is the second oldest temple in Tokyo after Sensoji Temple. It is not as bustling and crowded with people as Sensoji Temple. The quietness away from the hustle and bustle of the city is the biggest charm of Jindaiji Temple. Jindaiji Temple, built in 733 A.D., still maintains its original appearance. It is the oldest national treasure in the Kanto region, "Hakuho Buddha", and it is the only temple in Tokyo that has a national treasure Buddha statue.
More than a thousand years ago, Shendaiji Temple was already a famous temple for praying for disaster relief and marriage. "National Treasure Hakuho Buddha" is a bronze statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. It is also called Hakuho Buddha because it was a work of the Hakuho period in the seventh century.
Every year on March 3rd and 4th, Jindaiji Temple’s annual Echigensan Daishi Festival is held. During these two days, a distinctive Dharma tumbler market will be held, which is also one of the three major Dharma tumbler markets in Japan.
The quiet streets around Jindaiji Temple are full of the atmosphere of the Edo period. You can eat a bowl of hand-made soba noodles at the 60-year-old "Master Tea House" next to the temple before returning to Tokyo.
🚄Transportation to Jindaiji Temple: Take the JR Chuo Line from Shinjuku and transfer to the Tama Urban Monorail at Tachikawa Kita Station, take the private railway to "Chofu" station, and then transfer to the bus to Jindaiji Temple.
🚌Other transportation methods to Jindaiji Temple:
Chofu Station on the Keio Line: 15 minutes by bus from Azaleagaoka Station
JR Chuo Line・Sobu Line: 20 minutes by bus from Mitaka Station or Kichijoji Station
