This spring, I drove here early in the morning, braving the drizzle from Hanyin to the Fengyan Ancient Terraces in Xuanwo Town, located in the Qinba Mountain area, to watch the ancient terraces built by the Wu family from Shanhua County, Changsha Prefecture, Hunan, who moved there during the Qianlong period, which have a history of 250 years. Fengyan Ancient Terraces are different from the Longji Terraces in Guangxi. They are hidden in the deep mountains and are known as the living fossils of the farming era.
