Toyokuni Shrine in Osaka was established as a separate shrine of Toyokuni Shrine in Kyoto City in Osaka Castle (Osaka Castle Park). It mainly pays homage to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the hero of Japan's Warring States Period, who completed the great cause of unifying Japan in the 16th century and ended the war. After the fall of the Toyotomi family, the shrine was destroyed. The shrine was not rebuilt until the end of the 19th century AD. In the monastery, the ancient building "Tangmen" is preserved. "Tangmen" is a kind of door imitating Chinese architectural style. It represents the colorful "Taoshan Culture" at that time and has been listed as a national treasure. An iron lantern (iron lighting device) is also preserved in the temple. In the "Treasure Hall" on the north side of the temple, the Japanese painting "Toyokuni Matsuri Screen" by the Japanese painting genre "Kano School", which has become an important national cultural relic, and the relics used by Toyotomi Hideyoshi are displayed.

Toyokuni Shrine is located next to the Osaka Castle Tower.
It is a shrine dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, his son Hideyori, and his brother Hidenaga.
This place not only commemorates Toyotomi Hideyoshi's achievements, but is also an important cultural and spiritual symbol of Osaka.
⋯⋯⋯⋯
The current shrine was rebuilt in 1880.
The main hall of the shrine adopts the extremely authoritative Tangmen design.
The protruding top of the door is like a hat, which is a symbol of supremacy.
To the right rear of the shrine, there is the Hideishi Garden (Hideyoshi's stone hill) which uses the dry landscape garden technique to depict the appearance of Osaka Castle.
There is also a "Sasa-no-tsuchi" on the side of the garden.
This path is filled with the wishes and prayers of worshippers.
It surrounds the shrine and makes it more vibrant.
⋯⋯⋯⋯
The statue of Toyotomi Hideyoshi in front of the Torii gate is 5.2 meters tall.
It is made based on an old photo and simulates the height and posture.
Because Toyotomi Hideyoshi was born a commoner and rose to the top of the political power,
in the Warring States Period, when family background was important, he was a very inspiring figure.
So this also became a place to pray for good luck, rebirth, and career luck.
Tips:
After visiting the shrine, you can walk to the path of the autumn garden on the east side.
You will pass by the stone wall on the way (this is the secret place to see the moat).
After climbing up, you can see the oars and the beautiful moat cityscape.
This park trail is a shortcut to JR Mori-nomiya.
The trail is lined with trees and is very comfortable.
After walking out of the trail, you will see Osaka Castle Concert Hall (open-air venue).
