A Cozy Spot in Melbourne - Higher Ground
Address:
Higher Ground is located at 650 Little Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia.
Ambiance/Facilities:
Higher Ground boasts an industrial chic atmosphere, with high ceilings, natural lighting, and exposed bricks. The interior is spacious and airy, with plenty of seating options for groups and individuals. The facilities are well-maintained and clean, making for a comfortable dining experience.
Highlights:
One of the highlights of Higher Ground is their signature pancake. This fluffy and delectable pancake is served with seasonal fruit, vanilla mascarpone, and a drizzle of maple syrup. It's a must-try for anyone visiting Higher Ground. We tried the salmon folet which tasted typical and normal. Other menu highlights include the mushroom toast with truffle butter, the corn fritters with bacon and avocado salsa, and the hotcakes with blueberry and ricotta.
Avg. Price per Person:
The average price per person at Higher Ground is around $25-$30 AUD before tax, which is a fair price considering the quality of the food and the unique ambiance. But its coffer at $4.5 AUD was pretty aromatic and nice!
Rating:
Overall, Higher Ground is a fantastic dining experience that combines excellent food with quirky ambiance. The signature pancake alone is worth a visit, and the other dishes on the menu do not disappoint. I would rate Higher Ground a solid 5 out of 5 for its unique atmosphere, delicious food, and fair prices.

Top 2 breakfast in Melbourne 🥐
#foodiejourney
🇦🇺 Melbourne is known for its thriving café scene, and brunch is considered one of the most important meals of the day. When in Melbourne, highly recommended to try top 2 cafes in town.
☕️ Higher Ground: one of Melbourne's most iconic and popular brunch spots. It is extremely popular, especially on weekends, so expect to wait for a table during peak brunch hours.
🥐 Lune Croissant: the world-renowned pastry shop in Melbourne, famous for its perfectly layered croissants. Arriving early to avoid disappointment.

One of the best in Melbourne
The vibe is great; we were there around 12 pm and got a table right away. Very casual atmosphere. There is something about the ambiance of this place.
The drinks were so good and set the tone for what’s about to come next. By the ways, the portions were huge! The plates don’t only look amazing, the dishes tasted amazing too.
Truly fantastic. The interior and vibes are good too. For drivers, park at the First Parking off Lonsdale street, $10 weekend flat rate. We tried both the cappuccino and the pour over coffee. Their coffees are legit.

Hot cakes
The last time i visited higher ground was a few years back and i remember the hot cake being the highlight. So when i was in Melbourne recently, I felt like it was time to pay the hot cake a visit. Higher Ground great place and beautiful architecture. The food was amazing. For a breakfast place I would have thought a drinks menu would have been provided on arrival but only a list of coffees was given. Awesome atmosphere and very classy rustic vibes. Prices are a little high for what you get. Carrot cake was unreal, please order it when you come here. Coffee was delish. The building itself was stunning and near the station. I do recommend visiting.

Decent but that's it..
The cafe scene in melbourne is pretty solid. But that also means some places hyped up. Also the pricing can be ridiculous. I tried the Hugher ground on two occasions. Once for a coffee during midday and another time for proper breakfast. Thus place as expected is pretty popular. By the time at 8am when I got in, it was already packed with the kitchen even running out of certain bakery items.
They have an extensive menu with modern and inventive takes on dishes. The pricing I am not very pleased with but the portion are huge. Yet it is a limiting factor. Overall the experience was decent but not extraordinary as I expected. I think it might be worth trying at least once. It's got a decent menu after all and the coffee was great too.
