They were easy to eat and I finished them in no time. Also, on Bentenjima, a few stations away from Hamamatsu Station, I was able to see the torii gates in Lake Hamana. In the background is the Hamana Ohashi Bridge, which is a road for cars only? In the evening, we sampled some "Hamamatsu Gyoza." The sweetness of the cabbage and the texture of the bean sprouts were impressive, creating a taste that felt somehow nostalgic. There are several gyoza specialty shops around Hamamatsu Station. The next day, we went to the famous eel restaurant "Rin." The carefully grilled eel was fragrant, and the richness of the sauce was impressive. The unagi (shiroyaki) was also elegant, a taste that really captured Hamamatsu's eel culture. Then, we toured the "Unagi Pie Factory." You can see how the classic souvenir "Unagi Pie" is made, and enjoy tasting samples while surrounded by the fragrant, sweet aroma. I even ended up having a parfait topped with eel pie! Finally, I strolled around Hamamatsu Castle. I enjoyed the view from the castle tower and the serene Shizuoka air. Natural Beauty Lake Hamana Lake Hamana is undoubtedly Hamamatsu's most beautiful feature. As one of Japan's few brackish lakes, its 141-kilometer shoreline and 6,880-hectare surface area resemble a giant sapphire embedded in the earth. There's so much to do at Lake Hamana. Take a cruise to experience the lake's dynamism up close and feed the seagulls. Ride the aerial cable car across the lake for panoramic views, and on clear days, you can even see the Pacific Ocean and Mount Fuji. The hot spring town of Kanzanji by the lake offers stunning scenery, allowing you to enjoy the lake view while soaking in the onsen. Local Specialties Unagi Don (Eel Rice Bowl) Hamamatsu is renowned for its eel, and the Unagi Don here is exceptional. The eels are fed silkworm pupae, resulting in delicious, almost odorless meat. Kanto-style Unagi Don involves steaming the eel before grilling, resulting in less fat, while Kansai-style Unagi Don is grilled over charcoal, giving it a crispy texture. They are pan-fried in a circular arrangement and garnished with bean sprouts in the center, which both cuts through the richness and adds visual appeal. Not far from Binming Lake is the famous old home of Tokugawa Ieyasu - Hamamatsu Castle. "Hambong" was named when Tokugawa Ieyasu moved to this place. In Hamamatsu City Park, this castle is a symbol of the entire park. Although the castle was later restored, the stones of the wall have gone through several hundred. The original authenticity of the year, stepping up the stairs, gently touch the ancient stones that carry the years, as if touching a piece of history. Tian Shouge, the original ancient battlefield in the north, the Yuanzhou Beach in the south, the Hamana Lake in the west, the Tianshou Pavilion on the sunny day, and the Mount Fuji in the east is in front of you, at your fingertips.
