Petra Ruins (Jordan) - The Mystery of the Ancient City Sleeping in the Desert
The Petra Ruins, located in the desert region of Jordan, is an ancient city and one of the top tourist destinations in the Middle East, also registered as a World Heritage site. Featured in the movie 'Indiana Jones,' it is known as a dream destination that many aspire to visit at least once.
The entrance to the ruins is a gorge called 'Siq,' flanked by towering rock walls on both sides. After passing through the approximately 1.2 km path, the magnificent 'Al-Khazneh (The Treasury)' suddenly appears, offering a breathtaking sight.
There are numerous attractions, including countless tombs and temples carved into the rock walls, and 'Ad-Deir (The Monastery).' While exploring the ruins during the day is wonderful, the 'Petra by Night' event, where candles illuminate the site, is also highly recommended for its enchanting atmosphere.
