Located in Kita Ward, Tokyo, the garden was once the private residence of Furukawa Toranosuke, the son of the Furukawa chaebol entrepreneur Furukawa City Heiwei, and is now a national scenic spot in Japan. Toranosuke Taisho 6-15 years (1917-1926) lived here for nine years. The Old Furukawa Garden has Western-style and Japanese garden characteristics. The western garden in the garden was designed by the famous British designer Josiah Conder before the war. Among them, the Japanese-style garden was designed and built by the famous gardener Ogawa Jibei in Kyoto, Japan. In Showa 31 (1956), the garden was officially opened as a metropolitan park. From Showa 57 (1982) to the first year of Heisei (1989), the government invested in the restoration of the garden that had been in disrepair for many years, and the restored garden retained the style of the early Taisho garden.
