2025 Seoul Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in April)
Seoul is the capital city of South Korea. The temples and palaces of this city tell a long and storied history. The magnificent natural landscape and modern skyscrapers merge together to form a city that is both young and cultured. Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces are ancient palaces, while Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village are well-preserved traditional Korean villages. Seoul is a shopping paradise. In Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun Market, Sinsa-dong, and Samcheong-dong, you can find all kinds of cutting-edge fashions, including clothing, jewelry, and make-up. Once night falls, Seoul is even more magnificent. Climb atop the YTN Seoul Tower to feast your eyes on the city's glittering nightscape. The Han River is the background of many beloved Korean soap operas. Seoul's delicious food is not to be missed. Bibimbap, kimchi, and Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) are all delicious in their own right.

Bukchon Hanok Village is a well-preserved traditional Korean residential area. With its maze-like alleys and clusters of hanok buildings, it showcases the lifestyle of the Joseon era, attracting numerous visitors eager to explore the essence of Korean traditional culture.
The charm of Bukchon lies in its blend of historical ambiance and modern living. Here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the hanok rooftops and the cityscape, making it a perfect spot for memorable photographs.
Beyond admiring the architecture, Bukchon offers a variety of cultural experiences, such as hanbok rentals, Korean paper craft workshops, and traditional tea ceremonies. Strolling through the narrow stone-paved streets in hanbok feels like stepping into a scene from ancient times.

This hotel next to the Seoul Botanical Garden is a secret place in the city. It’s really amazing! Complete! No! lose! see!
"Courtyard by Marriott" is next to the Botanical Garden. As soon as you walk into the room, you will be stunned by the view from the large floor-to-ceiling windows on the high floor. During the day, you can overlook the greenery of Seoul city, and at night, you can see the entire night view. The bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom has heating and dry and wet separation, full of details!
The most surprising thing is its smart home system. The curtains and lights can be switched with one click. There are also plenty of sockets, which is perfect for digital travelers.
The transportation is also a plus. The hotel is only a five-minute walk from the subway station, and only one stop to Gimpo Airport, so transportation is completely stress-free. You can borrow plug converters for free, the gym is open 24 hours a day, and the night view of the bar on the rooftop is extremely romantic, making it the first choice for couples on a date!

You must eat strawberries when you come to Korea! These sweet strawberries will make you fall in love with Korea🍓
If you come to Korea, don't miss this super dessert - Korean strawberry!
In winter, strawberries are at their most delicious in Korea, especially between December and March. You can see a wide variety of strawberries in local markets, supermarkets, and roadside stalls.
The most amazing thing is that strawberries are very cheap! In Taiwan, the price of strawberries is often prohibitive, but in Korea, you can buy large, fresh strawberries at super cheap prices. For example, I once bought a box of large strawberries in a supermarket in Seoul. It only cost 12,000 Korean won (about 300 Taiwan dollars). For such sweet strawberries, it was really worth the money!
Strawberries are also very easy to buy, and you can buy them in many places, such as roadside stalls, supermarkets and even some small markets in Seoul. Many stores will display boxes of fresh strawberries. You can pick one to take away and taste the fresh sweetness on the spot. Especially near subway stations and tourist attractions, strawberry stalls can often be seen.
In short, when traveling to Korea, strawberries are definitely a delicacy you cannot miss. Whether you buy a box to try or pair it with local desserts, strawberries can bring you an incomparable wonderful experience. Next time you come to Korea, remember to try it! 🍓

2024 Grand Opening! Stay at Hotel the Botanik Sewoon Myeongdong
If you're looking for a convenient, modern accommodation in Seoul equipped with a washing machine, Hotel the Botanik Sewoon Myeongdong is definitely worth considering!
This hotel is set to open in December 2024. When I booked a stay for over a week, there were hardly any reviews in Chinese, but after my stay, I can confidently give it a five-star recommendation.
Located in Jung-gu, Seoul, the hotel is right next to Cheonggyecheon Stream. It's just a short walk to Euljiro 3-ga Station, making it super convenient to visit Myeongdong, Dongdaemun, and Gyeongbokgung Palace. I stayed in the Deluxe Family Twin Room, which, while not very spacious, is efficiently designed. The twin beds are comfortable, and the room features a balcony, a large refrigerator, a washing machine, and a clothes dryer—perfect for long stays or independent travelers!
The bathroom is a standout feature with its separate wet and dry areas. This hotel is undoubtedly one of the best value-for-money options for a trip to Seoul!

The first time I stayed at L’Escape Hotel, located next to Myeongdong in Seoul, it felt like I was walking into a European palace dream. Don't miss it when you come to Seoul! Hidden coffee secrets in Seoul's Eunpyeong District "1 person 1 cup 1인1잔" cafe is really not to be missed
If you are like me, the most anticipated thing when traveling is to find a quiet and beautiful place like a painting, then this "1 person 1 cup 1인1잔" cafe in Eunpyeong District, Seoul is really not to be missed.
Although the location is a bit far from the city center, the view from the cafe not only allows you to see the traditional roofs of Eunpyeong Hanok Village, but also the magnificent Bukhansan Mountain in the distance.
I ordered an iced American coffee with a small dessert. It was sweet and not greasy, and it made me feel so happy. 📷
Whether you want to take beautiful photos of Korean houses or just want to find a corner to rest quietly, this place is very suitable. The seats are spacious and not crowded, the atmosphere is quiet, and many locals come here to relax on weekend afternoons.
📍Tips:
- There is a minimum consumption requirement in the store, and each person needs to order a drink;
- It is recommended to go there on a sunny day, as the mountain view will be clearer and more spectacular;
- There are fewer people in the afternoon on weekdays, so it is more suitable for leisurely enjoyment.

Seoul|MOM’S TOUCH, Korea’s most popular burger shop, MOM’S TOUCH, a must-try in Korea’s fried chicken and burger world
I was taking a walk in Yeouido Han River Park and suddenly felt a little hungry. I passed by this MOM’S TOUCH and found that there was a queue outside! We knew it was a popular restaurant at first glance, so we lined up too, thinking we would have a small bite to eat before continuing on our way.
After ordering fried chicken burgers and fries, I discovered that there was an outdoor seating area outside the store. It happened to be a cool day with a comfortable breeze. It was super relaxing to eat hot fried chicken while watching the glittering surface of the Han River. That beautiful moment of "just right" makes me feel good when I think about it now.

Seoul|This apple-themed cafe hidden in Myeongdong is a must-try for dessert lovers!
This cafe hidden in the alleys of Myeongdong makes you feel like you are in the scene of a Seoul literary and artistic movie as soon as you walk in. The Sounds of Apple Café is located at 47 Myeongdong 8-gil, Jung-gu. It is less than 100 meters away from Exit 10 of Myeongdong Station on Subway Line 4. It is very convenient!
I came here specifically for brunch. The store is not very big, but it is very tastefully designed. There is a lot of white space on the walls and ceilings, wooden tables and chairs, and warm lighting. The overall atmosphere is gentle and comfortable, and you can smell the sweet scent of apples.
I ordered a brunch platter which was savory and slightly sweet, super satisfying! The drink is refreshing and not bitter, perfect for a simple and tasty morning meal during a trip
I recommend that you spend a leisurely morning in this shop when you come to Seoul. Whether you are traveling alone and want to relax, or chatting with friends to replenish your energy, 사운즈오브애플 is a good place worth visiting again and again!

Korean contact lenses are really beautiful and natural. This time, I specially arranged to visit the popular brand Hapa Kristin's Myeongdong flagship store, which is a stop that will make girls' hearts burst.
The whole store is decorated in a super dreamy pink color. Walking in is like entering a pink bubble world! The key point is that this brand is endorsed by Jang Won-young! ! This alone is a plus.
There are so many styles to try on at the site, including daily and monthly disposables, and the colors are also very suitable for Asians to wear. I was so excited that day that I quietly stocked up a large bag. They also gave me a small mirror and lens case. The packaging is also super cute, which is perfect as a souvenir.

Business hours: AM 10:30 - PM 10:30 (open all year round)
I recommend this to friends who love wearing colored contact lenses like me! ✨👁️

Seoul|The moment I walked up the slope of Hannam-dong, I was almost moved to tears. Spring allowed me to see cherry blossoms all the way 🌸
I originally just wanted to stroll leisurely in Hannam-dong, but I didn't expect that while climbing up the hill, I would accidentally walk into a dreamy cherry blossom rain.
The alleys here are irregular and have many slopes. Although it was a bit breathless to walk, just as I was wiping the sweat off my face while climbing up, a super full cherry blossom tree appeared at the corner🌸! The sun shines through the flowers, it's as beautiful as a commercial, I couldn't help but scream with joy
The charm of Hannam-dong is not just the quality selection shops and unique small cafes, but more importantly the sense of life where you can encounter surprises around corners. This "lost walk" made me realize that by not walking along the tourist streets, I can actually find the softest side of the city. Remember to wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes and save some energy for these beautiful scenery hidden high up!

Visit Seongsu-dong in Seoul and accidentally enter a Kodak clothing store where you can take retro black-and-white photos for free
While visiting Seongsu Cave, I accidentally discovered this Kodak Corner Shop hidden in an alley. I originally thought it was just a small shop selling clothes and hats, but I didn’t expect there were so many surprises hidden inside!
In addition to shopping, what attracts me most in the store is——
📷 Free retro black and white photo experience machine!
It's completely free and no appointment is required. Just press the shutter button to automatically take and print out black-and-white photos with a strong sense of nostalgia. It's a bit like the instant photos taken in photo studios in the 1980s, which really makes you want to take pictures one after another.
The image is very textured, and it is very suitable for taking personal photos with friends, couples, or by yourself.
📌 There is also an area in the store where you can DIY print T-shirts and eco-friendly bags. People who like to create things by hand will definitely love it!
The overall space is very uniquely decorated, and even the decoration is super photogenic. It is definitely the coolest store in Seongsu-dong!

Walking in
Walking in the residential area of Hongdae, I thought it was just an everyday street scene, but I didn’t expect to encounter a minimalist yet powerful exposed concrete building. The exterior is like a sculpture in the city, and the sharp gray and white lines make people stop in their tracks.
But when I pushed the door open, the whole visual impact instantly reversed! This cafe named CONHAS has a completely different interior style - exposed unfinished red brick walls, wooden tables and chairs full of design, every detail looks like a studio-level set, it is a paradise for photographers!
Many Koreans need to queue up to order food.
Because there are so many corners, each one is so beautiful that it is hard to choose. This place is not just about drinking coffee, it is more like a baptism of senses and aesthetics. If you are tired of walking in Hongdae, this is definitely a secret base for relaxation and replenishment of inspiration.

Seoul|This time I walked into Seongsu-dong, the design of every corner amazed me
During this trip to Seoul, Seongsu-dong was the stop I fell in love with the most unexpectedly.
Originally I just planned to stroll around, but once I walked in, it felt like I was walking into a three-dimensional lifestyle design magazine, and every corner could be savored.
The old industrial-style factory has been transformed into a high-quality coffee shop, an independent bookstore, a fragrance selection store, a clothing brand showroom... No store is random.
From the exterior of the building to the interior furnishings, every detail makes people want to stop and take a closer look.
Like COOR, a design boutique, Daelim Changgo’s old factory-style space, and onion cafe’s retro red brick walls.
Every place seems to be telling me a story.
You don’t have to rush when walking here, just slow down and feel the integration of design and life with your eyes.
Maybe this is why I fell in love with Holy Water - it is not the most bustling tourist area, but it has the most personality and soul.
Next time I come to Seoul, I want to spend a whole day here and walk through more alleys and shops that I haven’t discovered yet.

Seoul|Meet a colorful street full of flowers in Myeongdong Comic Street|The most unexpected tender moment of the journey
I originally just wanted to take a walk from Myeongdong MRT Station, but I accidentally turned into Myeongdong Cartoon Street. I didn’t expect that there were not only colorful painted walls full of childlike fun, but also a path surrounded by bright flowers.
As the sun shines, a whole row of flower walls bloom, in pink, yellow, and orange, and each one looks as if someone has taken special and careful care of it. I wonder if someone has planted tenderness for this lovely alley.
I felt really healed at that moment. My feet were sore after a long day of traveling, but the moment I saw these flowers, my heart suddenly became so soft.
The walls of the comic street are also painted with Korean comic characters, which are a bit childish and retro. They are super beautiful when paired with flowers for photos.
This is not a popular check-in spot, but if you happen to come to Myeongdong, don’t rush to just walk the streets, remember to look into the alleys, maybe you will find a little surprise of your own.

Seoul|Sinchon A bustling shopping district in Seoul that only students know! A complete guide to the must-visit alleys, painted walls, and alley food around Sinchon subway station🔥
Speaking of the area where the most young people gather in Seoul, besides Hongdae, I actually like the "Sinchon (신촌)" area too!
This is the junction of Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Sogang University. It is very lively on weekdays and even more crowded on holidays. There are things to do and eat on the whole street when you get out of the subway station. It is very cost-effective.
About a 5-minute walk from Shinchon subway station, a whole row of colorful painted walls suddenly appeared in the alleys. The walls were painted with fairy tales, dreamy hot air balloons, and local Korean illustrations. It made people feel great. Many couples and students took photos and checked in here.
There are also many food recommendations!
- Chuncheon Spicy Fried Chicken (춘천닭갈비): Fried on the spot, super delicious, eat with cheese or instant noodles is heaven
- Alley Small Octopus Hot Pot: Very spicy, the small octopus is super fresh, and you can also add rice to make fried rice
- You can walk to Ewha Womans University shopping district in the Sinchon area, and you can also visit clothing stores
- The atmosphere is great at night, but the alleys are a little smaller, so remember to avoid the peak dining hours
- Many restaurants do not have Chinese menus, but almost everyone has shared photos on Google Maps, so ordering food is not difficult!
The new village is not only a place for students, it is also a favorite place for independent travelers like me. There is not too much commercial atmosphere, and you may find little surprises at every corner. Walking on the street is full of life. Whether you are a foodie, a hipster, or a photographer, you will love it!

Seoul|A secret cherry blossom spot hidden next to KBS! Walking on this road is like falling into a Korean drama scene
This time when I came to Seoul to enjoy the cherry blossoms, I unexpectedly discovered a super dreamy path - right next to KBS Hall! It is not a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, but it is quietly filled with cherry blossoms. The moment you walk in, you really feel like you are walking into a Korean drama, especially when the wind blows and the petals fall, it is so beautiful that you can't help but slow down your pace.
This road winds along the side of KBS. There are no crowds or commercial atmosphere, but instead it has a more leisurely and everyday vibe. No matter how you press the shutter, you will see beautiful pictures. I really recommend it to you if you don’t like crowds.
Tips:
• It is recommended to come in the morning or evening when there are fewer people and it is easier to take photos
• There are also convenience stores and cafes nearby, so you can take a break when you are tired.
• Remember to bring a light jacket, as Seoul in spring is still a bit cold in the mornings and evenings!
If you are in Seoul during this cherry blossom season, you might want to take a trip to this low-key yet charming path. It’s a great place to take photos and check in!

The entire building is divided into multiple themed floors, combining K-POP, traditional Korean culture, immersive video experiences and art installations. Whether you are a fangirl, a hipster, or just want to take beautiful photos, this place is perfect for you!
My favorite photo spots are the blue and white spiral staircase and several immersive projection exhibition rooms. No matter where you stand, you can take super dreamy photos. There is also a K-POP virtual stage where you can choose your favorite idol group background and stand on it to take pictures just like taking pictures with your idol (so cool!)
In addition to taking photos, you can also try on Korean clothes and learn about tourist information of different cities in Korea. It is basically a complex space that combines information, entertainment and beauty!

Seoul, South Korea|Pungnian Restaurant 풍년식당 is like
I was attracted by this nostalgic shop at first sight. The wooden facade, straw umbrella shed, handwritten signs and nostalgic fonts make you feel like you have traveled back to Korea in 1979.
This "풍년식당1979" specializes in Korean barbecue and traditional hot pot dishes, and the recommended menu outside the store will make you drool. Especially the neatly arranged pork belly and seafood platter, which is perfect for a few friends to come here to eat meat and chat loudly!
My favorite is their grilled pork belly with sauce, which has a crispy outer layer and juicy inner layer. Paired with a sip of ice beer, there is only one word to describe it: awesome! There are also various Korean side dishes for free refills, and the service staff are also very friendly, making the whole dining process very enjoyable.
If you are also a fan of Korean dramas, you must be familiar with this street barbecue style, as if you have walked into the scene in the drama. After dinner, you can take a walk around the nearby streets and experience the real "Korean daily life".
Recommendation index: ★★★★★
• Location: Along the Boulevard in Seoul
• Atmosphere: Retro and lifelike
• Must-order: pork belly set meal, kimchi pot
• Suitable for: friends gathering or couples dating

Why do I always queue up in Hongdae every time I come to Seoul? This place is not just for shopping, but also a treasure trove of creative inspiration🛍
If I could only choose one area to freely explore in Seoul, I would definitely choose Hongdae!
This place is always full of the urge to "take pictures, buy, and stay." Compared to Sinsadong or Myeongdong, Hongdae has a more free-spirited and unconventional personality.
This is not my first time to Hongdae, but I am still pleasantly surprised by the small shops that keep popping up. My favorite is the small alleys in the Yeonnam-dong area. The shops are very low-key and the doors are full of plants. Some stores will even let you DIY your own T-shirts, handmade soaps or scented candles, which is really fun.
📍How to get to Hongdae?
Take Subway Line 2 to Hongik University Station, walk out from Exit 9 or Exit 3, and you will immediately enter the hot spot!
💡Tips:
- It is recommended to arrange a whole afternoon to walk around the alleys, visit shops, take photos, and eat desserts
- Outside Exit 3 of Hongik University Station is the information center, where you can get a Chinese map
- There will be street performers after 6pm, which is very youthful
- Some specialty shops do not allow taking photos, so please pay attention to the signs inside the store!

Seoul|Cafe Dolce cafe dolce Sankwang Island
After walking all day, my feet were almost tired. I accidentally passed by this cafe and stopped in to sit down.
I was so tired that day that I didn't want to walk too far, so I chose this Cafe Dolce which looked quite comfortable to take a break. The location is convenient and the exterior looks cute, but to be honest - the coffee is just average
I ordered a latte, which had a stronger milk flavor and a very light coffee aroma. It tasted like "hmm... it's just good with caffeine." Although there are some options in the dessert cabinet, they don’t look particularly attractive.
The space is not bad, the distance between the tables is not too crowded, suitable for sitting down and taking a break, but it is really not recommended to come here specifically. If you happen to be passing by and really can't walk anymore, just use it as a "buffer station"

Reasons for coming here: Really tired, just happened to be nearby
