Quanzhou Ancient City Walk, second stop, Chengtian Zen Temple! Chengtian Temple is located on the east side of Nanjun Alley, opposite Chengtian Lane in Quanzhou. It was originally the South Garden of Li Congxiao, the military governor of the Qingyuan Army during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Chengtian Temple, also known as Yuetai Temple, was initially named 'Nan Zen Temple'. It was built during the last years of the Baoda era to the early years of the Zhongxing era of the Southern Tang Dynasty. In the fourth year of the Jingde era of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was granted the name Chengtian Temple. The existing temple buildings were reconstructed in the thirtieth year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty. Along with Kaiyuan Temple and Chongfu Temple, it is known as one of the three great monasteries in Quanzhou. It is also the place where Master Hongyi preached and spread the Dharma. The gate of Chengtian Temple faces east to west, with the Yuetai at the entrance, and a vertical plaque with the characters 'Yuetai' hanging high. Entering the mountain gate, there is no worship pavilion, but a long and quiet path. The buildings along the central axis are the Hall of Heavenly Kings, Maitreya Hall, Mahavira Hall, Dharma Hall, and Manjusri Hall. In front of the Mahavira Hall, there are two 'life release ponds' with many turtles that have been set free. The overall architectural style of Chengtian Temple is not as ornate and complex as typical Southern Fujian architecture. "Beyond the long pavilion, beside the ancient road, the fragrant grass is emerald reaching the sky..." Master Hongyi, who wrote 'Farewell', once lived in the 'Moon Platform Courtyard' within the temple, hence Chengtian Temple is also known as 'Moon Platform Temple'. The towering banyan trees with their cloud-like canopies, the monks coming and going in the corridors, the pigeons strolling leisurely, the turtles in the release pond basking on the rocks in the sun. From the primary school separated by a wall from the temple, the clear sound of reading can be heard, the wind is flowing, time is still, and everything is so peaceful and beautiful.

Formerly known as "Baiyuanyu", the bronze Buddha Temple was formerly the abbot of Chen Miaolian. The building is typical of the Minnan style, with strong colors and beautiful aesthetics. Among them, there are fifteen bronze Buddha statues, which were cast during the 12th to 16th year of Qing Shunzhi, and the statues of Da Zhuang Yan are smooth and vivid. A generation of masters, Master Hongyi, came to the temple in the 1920s and 1940s. Chengtian Temple is located on the east side of Nanjun Lane opposite Chengtian Alley in the center of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is also known as Yuetai Temple. It was built in the late Tang Dynasty to the early years of Zhongxing (957-958 AD). Rebuilt, and Kaiyuan Temple, Chongfu Temple and called the three jungles of Quanzhou, there are "unclean", "Mei Shi Shengxiang" and other wonders. Chengtian Temple was originally built in the South Garden of the Five Dynasties, and the temple was built in the late Tang Dynasty to the early years of Zhongxing (957-958). It was originally named "Nanchan Temple". The Northern Song Dynasty Jingde four years (1007) gave the name Chengtian Temple, its size is second only to Kaiyuan Temple, and it is one of the three jungles in southern Anhui. The walkway enters, there is a small courtyard, named the platform of the moon, which was one of the residences of Hongyi who came to Quanzhou. Fuwen Temple is located in Baiyuanchuan Pool, Licheng District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is also known as Fuxue School and is a national key cultural relics protection unit. It was built at the end of the Tang Kaiyuan and moved to the site of the Northern Song Dynasty Taiping Xingguo (AD 976-981). It has a long history, a grand scale and a magnificent temple. It is a Confucius Temple complex with architectural forms of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It is the largest group of Confucian temples in the Southeast, and its architectural style is rare in the existing Confucius Temples nationwide.
