Bukit Broga or Broga Hill is located in Semenyih, about an hour or less from KL city centre. The hike itself is not so difficult but because of lack of trees, it can be very hot if you attempted it after 9.00am. So most people choose the sunrise hike which start as early as 6.00am. Due to its proximity to KL and relatively easy climb, it can be really crowded on weekends and public holidays. Better go on weekdays to enjoy the scenery at your own leisure pace. The view from the top is stunning due to the lack of trees. Almost similar to Cempohan Walk in Ubud Bali with its lalang covering the hill top. This place has a beautiful view and great for sunrise. It's an easy hike, around an hour hike. It's better to start your hike around 5am, so that you will be able to catch the sunrise and to avoid the swarm of people going up around 730am onward. 👀 There are 3 peaks, hike to peak 1 is long but once you reach peak 1, going to peak 2 is relatively easy. Peak 3 is not too far from peak 2 but the path is quite challenging. I would recommend bringing spare clothes because whatever you were will be dirty. 🍃 There are clear signs to take you to the top. The view is very beautiful during the hike. You can see the horizon with clouds in the morning. At the highest peak, you can either climb the rock or walk around it to the top. 👣 Hiking is all about enjoying nature. The word Broga is believed to originate from ‘Buragas’, an ancient mythical creature that once dwelt in the forest. Nowadays, Bukit Broga is a wonderful destination for people who enjoy outdoor activities. With an easy to moderate hiking trail, people of all ages often come in droves early in the morning to climb the scenic path to the top of Bukit Broga with an elevation of 400m above sea level, while some continue on to Gunung Tok Wan and Puncak 18. Although the hill is relatively low, the view from the top still offers one of the best sights around. There are three ‘peaks’ on Bukit Broga. Trails over here are clearly marked making it very easy to self-navigate to a magnificent view of the green valley below. It is important to plan your hike beforehand, as good weather helps avoid slippery climbs that could be extra challenging. Depending on fitness levels, it takes about 30 minutes to an hour to reach the top of Broga Hill. The relatively easy hike means that slippers may be worn but, shoes are encouraged as a precaution in case weather conditions turn awry.

It is located at Semenyih town, Selangor. This place give you a nice view at the top where you can see almost whole KL and a part of Negeri Sembilan. It's good hiking trail for beginners which is standing at 400meters high. The climb is quite easy and the path is also very safe. Unfortunately now they charge parking fee RM 5 and entrance fee RM5 per person to hike the hill. Used to be free of charge in the past. Come early in the morning if you want to see sunrise at about 7am and enjoy the cool fresh air. It takes roughly 1 hour to go up to the hill. Already awake at 4am and drive for about 45minutes from my place to here. Even though it’s really early in the morning but there’s already a lot of hikers preparing themselves for the hike. Parking area was almost full but we managed to find a place to park our car (please bring small change for parking fee and entrance fee). Hike took more than 3 hours for us as we walked slow and trying to avoid crowd by stopping on the side of the pathway. The pathway at the peak were very small and steep but there’s a rope you can hang onto.

Parking Open space by gravel road leading to trailhead The coordinates 2.940747, 101.903612 Distance- 3.90 km ( Both Ways ) Elevation 326m Difficulty- Moderate with multiple Dragonback climbs There is 2 parking area for Broga Hill. First one is paid and under a palm oil estate. Second one is free but park on side of gravel road please look for that signboard in my picture and turn left( Its 1-2 min further down from the 1st paid parking ). Follow the gravel road and crowd and you will reach the trailhead further down after passing 2 intersections in my pictures. Once you see the nicely tiles pathway, rope support fences you are in. No streams and puddles here. Great view once you are at the top. Total of 3 view points. It’s a wide open space and not shaded so bring your cap or umbrella as you will thank me on your way down. Permit is required from the Selangor forestry office which you need to apply in advance and not availabl on site or you hike at your own risk if there are any surprise inspections conducted by the forest officers.

My better half and I together with our friends hiked up this popular Broga Hill last week. It is located in the town of Broga near Semenyih in Selangor, about 40 km from KL Sentral or 15 km from Kajang town. It is 400 meter high and the trail is suitable for casual hikers and weekend exercise enthusiasts. It is very clear and we can just follow the well-trodden and much-used trail all the way to the peak of the hill. #hiking #awesomepic
