Budget 30,000 yen! Kyoto 1-night trip itinerary
#JapanTravelGuide
This is a very rough estimate and may vary.
① Bread, Espresso, and Arashiyama Gardens
This cafe opens at 8 AM. They don't take reservations, so you get a numbered ticket in the morning and wait your turn. I went around 9 AM and waited in line for about 30 minutes. A breakfast plate and drink cost about 3,000 yen per person!
② Strolling Around Arashiyama
Arashiyama has lots of attractions within walking distance, including the bamboo forest, Tenryuji Temple, Kimono Forest, and food stalls. Wear comfortable shoes and take a leisurely stroll!
③ Lunch at Ma MAMA
I made a reservation through TableCheck. The atmosphere was great, the food was stylish, and the food was delicious. The lunch set cost about 3,000 yen per person.
④ Arashiyama Ferry
Just across the Togetsukyo Bridge is the pier. You can take a leisurely boat ride there, take a shared boat, or just watch the action.
The shared boat ride costs ¥1,500 per adult, ¥1,000 per child (ages 4 to elementary school), and ¥0 for infants.
Rental boats are ¥2,000 per boat for three people.
⑤ Checked in at NOHGA HOTEL KYOTO KIYOMIZU
This hotel has a great location, stylish decor, and the staff are fantastic! I highly recommend it! It might be the best value I've ever had.
We stayed in a room for two for ¥12,000 per person. Prices may go up during the autumn foliage season.
⑥ Visited #YasuiKonpiragu Shrine
This shrine is within walking distance of the hotel. It's said to grant wishes in a frighteningly powerful way, so don't visit without serious consideration.
⑦ Strolling around #Pontocho #KamogawaNouryouyoko
It's about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. I had a reservation for dinner at the hotel, so I took a leisurely stroll, but I think dinner here would actually be better. The atmosphere is lovely, so I recommend even just strolling around!
⑧ Dinner at Hotel Restaurant Shikon
Every dish was carefully crafted and truly delicious. Creative Italian? The wide selection of adult drinks was amazing.
⑨ Drinks at the Hotel Rooftop Bar
If you're staying at this hotel, this is a must-do! Reservations are only accepted the day of, so I made a reservation by phone starting at 8 AM.
The atmosphere is amazing.
➉ Stroll along #NinenzakaSannenzaka #Kiyomizudera #KiyomizuderaSando
It's within walking distance from the hotel, so I went for a walk at 6 AM. Even though this place is usually super crowded, the shops are closed at this time, but it's usually pretty quiet, so I recommend it.
⑪ Breakfast at the Hotel Restaurant
All-you-can-eat bread from the hotel's bakery! I ordered an egg dish plate, and salad, bread, and drinks were served buffet-style. It was delicious!
⑫ #FushimiInariTaisha This place is a must-see. If you go before 10am, the free parking lot will be open and you'll be able to avoid the crowds.
Sneakers are a must if you're going mountain climbing!
Finish off by eating your way around the area and picking up some souvenirs. It's also great that there's a Chiikawa Shop where you can buy original Kyoto goods and souvenirs!
