🇦🇺 Melbourne Southeast | Secret Wetland Paradise — A Bird Lover’s Heaven! 🦆🦜
#summervacay
This is my second visit to Braeside Park, about a 20-minute drive from Clayton and Oakleigh, super convenient for friends in Melbourne’s southeast.
The park is huge, and wild rabbits are everywhere — literally hopping around in groups, grazing on the grass. So cute! 🐇💖
But the real highlight is the wetland area inside the park, home to tons of water birds like black swans, pelicans, ducks, and many other species I couldn’t even name. Nearby woodlands have colorful parrots and other birds — perfect for bird watchers and nature photographers alike!
Braeside Park is really large — walking diagonally across can take nearly an hour. There are plenty of picnic spots, cycling trails, and open spaces. If you love animals and outdoor learning, this is a great weekend escape.
Because it’s so big, I recommend parking at the Braeside Redgum Picnic Area Car Park, which is closer to the wetlands — makes exploring way easier! 🚗
