Beijing Trip Review
My trip to Beijing was an unforgettable experience, filled with rich history, stunning architecture, and cultural exploration. Here are some highlights from my visit:
1. Great Wall – Simatai
Visiting the Simatai section of the Great Wall was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Unlike the more crowded sections, Simatai offers a more peaceful and authentic experience, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The hike was a bit challenging, but it was absolutely worth it. Seeing the Wall stretch endlessly into the distance was a truly awe-inspiring sight.
2. Lama Temple (Yonghe Temple)
The Lama Temple was a beautiful and peaceful place, rich in Tibetan Buddhist culture. The intricate carvings, colorful murals, and the scent of burning incense made the visit feel deeply spiritual. One of the most impressive sights was the massive 18-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha statue, carved from a single piece of sandalwood. The temple’s atmosphere was serene, making it a perfect place to slow down and appreciate Beijing’s religious heritage.
3. Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven is one of Beijing’s most iconic landmarks. The architecture was stunning, especially the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests with its elegant, circular design. Beyond the main structures, I also enjoyed walking through the surrounding park, where locals gathered to practice tai chi, play traditional instruments, and socialize. The combination of history, culture, and daily life made this visit truly special.
Overall, my Beijing trip was an incredible blend of history, spirituality, and local culture. Each site had its own unique charm, making the journey both educational and unforgettable. I’d highly recommend these places to anyone visiting Beijing!#historicallandmarks #simatai #greatwallofchina #yonghetemple #templeofheaven #beijing
