[2025 East Jakarta ] Travel Guide for Bareta Cafe (Updated May)

Came here with a local friend. It's a beautiful place. The building which houses the cafe is charming and tucked away at a corner. Plenty of large green trees and I can definitely see the allure of sitting outside away from the constant din of the city and savour a nice crispy croissant and great cup of coffee. No wonder the place is consistently full. I managed to get a table once and that is through sheer luck as the occupants happen to leave whilst I was waiting there. The space upstairs is ginormous and I love the high ceiling of these old buildings #indonesiatrip #couplestrip

The service was excellent, with attentive staff and quick service for both food and beverages. The standout dish for me was the corn, which has been a longtime favorite here. However, the salmon pasta was a bit bland - adding more flavor could greatly improve this dish. As for the bacon pasta, I found the egg to be unnecessary as it was mostly egg white and didn't contribute much to the overall flavor. Other than that the dishes were decent. A cafe is more like kopitiam, few table of customers is talking and laughing super loud like own home. First time try double cheese bagel which is nice. Tiramisu cake personally felt it was too big a piece and middle part cheese we just left over. Not recommend. Unfortunately, this was the first time I did not finish my hot latte. Espresso seems too thick for latte. And water is not serve you have to purchase mineral water only. Its a cafe with nice staff. Very humble and warm people. But the food can do better with some changes. #indonesiatrip #jakarta
