[2025 North Melbourne Restaurant] Travel Guide for Auction Rooms (Updated Feb)

#australiaroadtrip Last weekend I went on a cafe tour with my korean friends. We went to Auction Rooms. Which is a brunch cafe and they were using St. Ali bean. The inside of the cafe was very spacious. It also had a vintage mood combined with modern elements. That day was the weekend. So many customers visited in there. So they were very busy and hectic. By the way, you know? Suprisingly Auction Rooms originally started as a Small Batch show room. I didn’t know that. I just thought it was a brunch cafe🤣 now It seems like there are separate locations for small batch roastery and auction rooms. I ordered a cappuccino with extra choc. When the cup came out, I added two extra sugar😋 Even though They were very busy and hectic, the coffee was nice! Next time Let’s go for brunch as well:) Excellent food and service. We got the pumpkin pie porridge and it was delicious. They were also considerate when my friend asked if they could remove the cinnamon dusting on top. The breakfast board is very well presented and has both sweet and savoury items. But the drinks are what make this place so signature Melbourne, especially the coffee! #australiaroadtrip This place has great food and vibe. the lamb here is so good. Breakfast board was well combined and balanced, salmon was fresh, high quality and then the granola made it a perfect combination. Barramundi was a stand out, it was baked with a flavor of smoke. Beef hash was ok. However Im not a fan of the coffee roaster here, they roasted the beans a bit dark which makes the coffee bitter, I had the batch and couldn’t finish. My friend for iced long black and felt like it was burn. But the iced filter smelt good tho :)) the building is beautiful and keeps a lot of the original character. The lighting is REALLY pretty, as you can see from how beautiful it made the food look. #0yentravelautumn I visited a cafe called Auction Rooms in Melbourne. The interior has high ceilings, a sense of openness, and a stylish space filled with natural light. The industrial design is comfortable and the relaxing atmosphere is appealing. As expected, the coffee was fragrant and well-balanced. The cup carefully brewed by the barista was exceptional. There is also a wide variety of food menu items, making it perfect for brunch. This is the perfect cafe to spend some relaxing time with delicious coffee.

The food was quite nice at the auction rooms. We frequented it for breakfast and coffees. A lovely setting, a nice outdoor space and in doors with plenty of character. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The breakfast platter was simple but flavourful and the cauliflower vegan dish was so good and it was fresh with so many different elements. Love their industrial-styled interiors, which span a large warehouse space with a central courtyard, encapsulating Melbourne's iconic fusion of grit and beauty. The menu also hits all the right notes. I had their fork-tender pulled beef brisket, which elicited cravings alongside the refreshing Hugo Spritz. The skinny latte and flat white were great and the orange juice fresh and refreshing. Staff were attentive and friendly.
