In late September, we visited the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park, a true haven for nature lovers. The park is renowned for its cascading waterfalls and interconnected lakes, where the crystal-clear waters shimmer in shades of turquoise and emerald. As we wandered along the wooden boardwalks, we were surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of rushing water. The park is vast, and we took a boat ride across one of the larger lakes, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of this natural wonder. Later, we hiked to a higher vantage point, where we were rewarded with a stunning aerial view of the entire park, showcasing its intricate network of waterfalls and lakes. Being immersed in such pristine nature was a truly unforgettable experience, leaving us in awe of the world’s natural beauty.

Croatia🇭🇷Plitvice Lakes National Park|Beware of gentlemen but not villains😤Free travel🚶🏼
I came to Croatia for the first time when I was a kid🇭🇷This country is called Yugoslavia. I was very impressed by the 16 Lakes National Park. I came to PLITVICE LAKE National Park in October and found that the tickets purchased on site were only 10 euros. Why did I buy them online first? 23 euros😡There is also a limit on the number of people, which is even more outrageous. I found that there are some entrances where you can sneak in without buying a ticket🔥It is really to guard against gentlemen and not villains🤬
Transportation strategy: Drive your own car🚗, it is more maneuverable
Must-visit attractions: 16 Lakes National Park
It takes about 5 hours to walk up and down the lake, take Route H
Enter the No. 2 parking lot, first take a car to ST3 and walk to P2, take a boat from P2 to P3, then walk to ST1, take a car back to No. 2, and then walk to the parking lot
Recommended hotel: This time I stayed at Guest House Slavica, which cost less than 1,000 per night and has a shared kitchen👍

Plitviče Lakes National Park
Plitviče Lakes National Park fell short of my expectations in terms of grandeur & magnificence, but the entire 295-square kilometre forest reserve in central Croatia is still a natural beauty. Encompassing 16 terraced lakes, joined by waterfalls that extend into a limestone canyon, we only had time to set foot on some of the numerous hiking walkways across the water.
As it was a Saturday, visitors to the national park were aplenty and we were thankful that chaos didn’t ensue along the crowded & narrow walkways. At 78 metres high, Veliki Slap is the highest waterfall in the national park and we made sure to view her first before hopping on an electric boat from the lower lakes to the upper lakes.

Croatia-Plitvice Lakes National Park
Day 13 of road trip. Took a 2.5 hour drive from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The entrance fee is 28 euro for family of four. I think it’s well worth it, the view at the entrance is already spectacular. We took route B and it was a beautiful walk from start to the end. What’s interesting is along the walk u can see ducks and other small animals like rabbits if u r sharp enough.
Definitely a must go if u are in Croatia!

#thailandtrip Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of Croatia’s most stunning natural attractions, known for its cascading waterfalls and vibrant turquoise lakes. It’s a paradise for nature lovers and a favorite for #TravelHacks enthusiasts due to its affordability and breathtaking beauty.
The park features a series of interconnected lakes and waterfalls surrounded by lush forests. Visitors can explore a network of wooden walkways and trails, making it accessible to people of all fitness levels. Tickets are reasonably priced, with discounts available during the off-season or for early morning entries. A key #TravelHack is to visit in spring or autumn when the park is less crowded, and the colors of nature are at their most vibrant.
Another cost-saving tip is to bring your own snacks and water, as the on-site restaurants can be pricey. The park is vast, so planning your route in advance ensures you maximize your time. While some opt for the bus or boat rides included with admission, walking the trails is a free and immersive way to experience the park’s beauty.

Whether you’re a photographer capturing the stunning scenery or a traveler seeking tranquility, the park’s affordability and natural splendor make it a must-visit. With strategic planning and travel hacks like off-season visits, Plitvice Lakes offers an unforgettable experience without breaking the bank.

A Croatian Paradise
The picture really don’t do it justice. Plitvice Lakes national park is truly one of the most beautiful natural spots in all of Europe.
As you climb through the forest along Wooden platforms the sights of water cascading alongside you from all angles truly takes your breath away.
Whilst here it’s often hard to escape the crowds but our best recommendation is to head to the highest point at the top end of the park where far fewer tourists seem to congregate and remember even in the height of summer it’s much cooler here than on the coast #voyagevibes

I recently spent an unforgettable day at Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, and it was truly spectacular! The park's entrance fee was €40, and it was well worth every cent. The cascading lakes and waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters and lush green surroundings.
I followed the walking trails, which led me through serene forests and over wooden footbridges, offering stunning views of the lakes and waterfalls. [Croatia] A spectacular lake that is a World Heritage Site
This time I will introduce Plitvice Lakes National Park, a world heritage site in Croatia.
It is a beautiful, highly transparent lake surrounded by nearly 100 waterfalls, and walking there really soothes the soul.
There are several buses from Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, that run from there every day, and I took one of them. It is about a three-hour journey.
The lake itself is very large, and there are several trekking courses. It would take a whole day to walk around it properly, so I recommend staying nearby.
There are also boats and tourist trains in the park, so it would be fun to ride them♪ (I took a boat).
There are plenty of impressive views just by walking, such as a boardwalk over the lake and a waterfall right under the stairs.
Please come prepared with comfortable clothing and plenty of water♪

Exploring Plitvice Lake National Park@Croatia
I travelled to Croatia in May 2023 with my another half and Plitvice Lake was in our bucket list.
Being one of the oldest and largest national parks located in the central of the country, Plitvice Lakes has been registered a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 due to its uniqueness geological structures.
A slight unfortunate because it was pouring with rain during our visit to the site and we weren’t allowed to enjoy the boardwalk trails due to safety purposes.
Given the opportunity, I would like to visit Plitvice again to capture the stunning mother nature view with closer shots😄.

During Autumn this unique place in the world, awarded the title of best national park in Europe, is just magical! The autumn colours make Plitvice Lakes one of the best destinations to visit in Autumn in Europe. If you had to visit only one place in Croatia this is certainly the Plitvice Lakes.
If possible, visit the park during the week, there is much fewer people than during the weekend. According to your capacities you will choose a « two hours », « four hours » or « six hours » ride. Do not worry about the way back, there are shuttles that will bring you back to your starting point.
During your stay do not miss to visit the best hidden gems in Croatia, Most beautiful Beaches in Croatia and Best Destinations to visit in Croatia.

🇭🇷Highest Waterfall In Croatia: Veliki Slap 🌊
Attraction: Veliki Slap
Location: Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia
Opening Hours: 7am-5pm
Veliki Slap, also known as “The Great Waterfall” is the highest waterfall in Croatia. It is 78 meters tall. This waterfall is the highlight and key attraction of the national park. It is near entrance 1. My suggest is to enter to the park through entrance 1 early in the morning so that you can beat the crowd. It is a good spot to take nice pictures, but once again, it can be very crowded starting from 9am. In winter, you will see the “frozen” version of the waterfall.
