Ngwe Saung Beach is an excellent choice to escape from the busy city-life style. You can plan a two to three days holidays in this place to enjoy all that it can offer. Going to the beach and walking along the sea is definitely a good way to spend a free time relaxing. I loved to soak my feet in the warm water and enjoying the sound of the waves and the smell of the sea. It is basically a special moment. #favouriteitinerary We stayed at Akariz Chaung Thar hotel as one of my aunts was celebrating her wedding there. She rented out almost all of the rooms with the ocean front bungalows for close family members, which she gave us (seen in the background of the first photo). The hotel was very accommodating to her requests at helping her build an altar (seen in 4th photo) on the beach connected to the hotel’s pool walkway. Except the wedding evening, it was just fun and vacation for the other 3 days she paid for! We had an amazing time enjoying the food and the beach. She also released fireworks from the hotel every night. This hotel has great service and complimentary breakfast buffet if you’re up for a try!

#favouriteitinerary White Island is a popular Island to visit from Chuang Thar beach. Its name comes from its sand that looks very white from afar! When the tide is low, you can see it from your hotel if you choose to stay at a beachfront hotel. To get to there, you have to firstly drive/ ride-hail to the station where you can rent a speed boat. We only paid about $40 for our whole family for a round trip. We could spot families here and there enjoying their time at this beautiful island. Although there’s not much to do there, I collected some seashells while my parents were praying at the pagoda there! The water is much less polluted here, definitely a pleasant stop.

#favouriteitinerary New Chaung Thar Hotel has been my family’s go-to hotel for years ever since I was a kid. They have a beautiful infinity pool with the view of the ocean. There are friendly stalls right outside that will rent you bicycles! The aunties living in the rural part will try to sell you their homemade seafood that you can preorder (which we got, refer to pic 5) It’s truly a blessing to be able to get seafood for a price that low, especially considering how this is their specialty since they’ve been perfecting the recipe over the years! Another non-seafood popular dish is, Coconut Chicken. They would cook a sweet coconut flavored chicken and serve it in a coconut husk! It’s one of the best chickens I’ve ever tasted. I heard the hotel has renovated over the years and now they have a Premium Suite for stays. They’ve also build a kid’s water play area beside the pool!! I recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Chaung Thar.

#favouriteitinerary Chaung Thar beach is located near Pathein city in Ayerwaddy state in Myanmar. Unlike Ngwe Saung which is located quite closely, they are vastly different. Chaung Thar is better for people who love crowds and people but Ngwe Saung is more for beautiful blues vacation type. To get there, all you need to get to is Pathein City first where it’s popular for their locally made umbrellas. I had the best time riding a small boat around the beach, taking a speedboat to their white sand island and soaking in the ocean in general. You can also visit the area that is abundant in shops and restaurants. Find some vlogs of really popular restaurants and try out seafood for very affordable prices! You can also set off fireworks at night for a romantic date for cheap.

Getting there from Yangon takes only about 6 hours with the bus. It is typically not recommended to take other forms of transportation as they are not as convenient. You will pass by Pathein city on the way, it’s recommended to make a stop there to try the local cuisine! The beach has an island that you can visit only while the tide is low. A path will appear to visit “Chit Thu Kyoon” translated to lover’s island, when the tide rises again - the path will close off. The locals have a folktale about a mermaid and human’s love story. The beach also have fun activities for you to go on a yacht & scuba dive for less than $50 also! They also have banana boats, parasailing, etc. Most of all, the seafood there is dirt cheap!! Try out the lobsters for less than $10.

#newyearnewtrip This was my second time staying at Akariz Chaung Thar. We got an ocean view bungalow and since the hotel was an ocean front resort, the views were ecstatic 🤩. There is just something special about hearing the waves hit at night, it’s so calming. Their breakfast option wasn’t too bad too. I love how this is more on the sides of the beach rather than the middle areas, making it feel more private! Happy Travels ~

#newyearnewtrip #myanmar #beach This beach is far from the prettiest beach in Myanmar but the place you would choose for liveliness. The food here is superb, you can get local cuisines from people in the village (you’re also helping out their livelihoods by doing so). I wouldn’t say it’s “unclean” since nothing really happened to me but you could take meds if you’re worried! Do visit White Sand Island (beware of any snakes, as there’s a nest there). P.S. And it is a crowded place with visitors and offers plenty of accommodation options. Many locals enjoy to visit Chaung Thar Beach because it is quite closed from Yangon. Ngwesaung is a beach resort located 48 km west of Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. It is the namesake of Ngwesaung Subtownship, Pathein Township. In 2014, the town of Ngwesaung had 10,732 people. The beach is 5 hours drive, with no traffic, away from the principal city of Yangon, and an airport is in the works. Buses leave at 6am & 9:30pm from in front of the Yangon Central Railway Station. Opened in March 2000. Ngwe Hsaung is newer than nearby and more popular Chaung Thar Beach, and is designed to attract people with larger holiday budgets. The hotel we stayed is Center Point Ngwe Saung Beach Resort I recommend it because of these reasons. One of the most laid-back places you will find in the country, the real joy here is to sit back and take in the sun’s rays and picturesque beach views, or try the catch of the day in a local restaurant.

#timetotravel Gaw Yin Gyi Island is an island in Ayeyarwaddy in South West Myanmar. It is located near Nanthapu village, Ngayokekaung sub-township, Pathein District of Myanmar. Though you can't get directly there because of poor infrastructure, there are two buses running directly to Gaw Yan Gyi and the bus is quite cheap. They charge only 10,000 kyats per person for one way. The journey takes 9 hours then have to ride a short ferry get on island.

In the small town of Burma, there are not many modern buildings. It seems to be out of touch with modern civilization, and tourists are rarely seen. However, it is such a small town that also has too many happy hours. The people here are always filled with happy smiles, and the innate optimism is very touching.
