2024 Northern Lapland Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)

A couple of years ago I had seen a few of my favorite content creators go on a photography trip to the northern part of Finland 🇫🇮 , also known as Lapland. This area which is part of the Arctic Circle, is known for its winter wonderland vibes and breathtaking sceneries expanding on vast areas. ❄️ This winter, I finally made it happen. I didn’t believe it could exceed my already very high expectations. But it did. I am going to share my best shots from this Lapland trip this week. Northern Lapland autumn season

#autumnseason Autumn in northern Lapland is absolutely stunning! The landscape transforms into a beautiful array of colors as the leaves change, creating a picturesque and serene atmosphere. It's a perfect time to witness the beauty of nature and maybe even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights as the nights grow longer. The season is known as "Ruska" in Finnish, and it usually peaks in mid-September. The forests are filled with vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow, making it a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.

Accommodation located in Kilopāna National Park, where you can feel the most Finnish atmosphere

#European travel It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Ivalo Airport to Felcenter Kilopae accommodation. Since the bus comes according to the flight schedule, you can catch it right in front of the airport. You can pay the bus fee in cash or by card after boarding. It is located right in front of Kilopae National Park, so if you are lucky, you can see the aurora here :-) It was cloudy on the day we went, so we failed. ㅎㅎ There are various programs, so you can rent bicycles, skis, cross-country skis, and sleds. I also recommend using the Finnish smoke sauna!! It is the only one around here, but there is a restaurant right next to the reception, so you can eat, have a beer, or have a cup of coffee. They also have breakfast there.
