About half an hour train ride from Shinjuku, Tokyo Japan. We took a visit to Kichijōji, a more neighbourly area within Tokyo. In the area is a beautiful park that would take you away from the city like area. The path goes around their large lake, there are multiple bridges within which you can take a nice walk around. Take a walk around their national park with a swan deck or to their Aquatic Life House with regional reptiles. We sat next to the lake after grabbing a nice cold bottle of tea from their vending machines. Listened to nature for a while. Then we went to their temple inside of the park named Inokashira Benzaiten; it is an iconic shrine within the park where you bless for money. The interesting part is to take out our money, put it into a basket and wash it in their shrine water. If you’ve got the time, you can walk a little further to visit the park zoo and the Ghibli Museum.

🍀 This is Inokashira Park, located in Kichijoji, a hip neighborhood in Tokyo. It has a different feel and atmosphere from Shinjuku Park and Ueno Park, and you can see locals visiting the park with their families. I think this is why it creates a more peaceful and calming landscape. 💁 The Japanese-style pavilions and houses here and there give it a quiet feel. As you walk around the park, you can also see a monument that is said to be the background for the Totoro movie. If you ever visit Kichijoji, I recommend you stop by Inokashira Park at least once~!!

Mitaka is nearly half an hour's drive from the center of Tokyo. Since the museum tickets have specific dates and time periods, you need to ask someone to book them in advance on the Lawson website, and then pick up the tickets at the Loppi machine in the convenience store. I visited the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka! It's a little far from downtown Tokyo, but it's very close if you take the subway from Shinjuku or Shibuya! You have to make an online reservation about a month in advance to visit the Ghibli Museum! As I walked into the park, I was greeted by lush trees and a serene lake. The air here was exceptionally fresh, lifting my spirits. I strolled along the lakeside path, enjoying the sight of ducks and wild ducks swimming leisurely on the lake, and occasionally seeing people quietly waiting for their catch. The sunlight filtering through the leaves created dappled shadows, making the entire lake shimmer. At noon, I had a light meal at a café in the park, and the view outside made me feel incredibly happy. Dining on the terrace under the sun, with a gentle breeze on my face, felt like being in a paradise. After lunch, I visited the small zoo in the park, where there were adorable sheep, rabbits, and pigs. The lively sheep, in particular, made me want to get close to them. Day 2: On the second day, I continued to explore the area around Inokashira Park. In the morning, I returned to the park, this time with my camera, ready to capture its beautiful moments. The park in the early morning was vastly different from the previous day, with mist lingering and hazy light filtering through the trees, adding a layer of mystery to the park. I walked along the lakeside path, looking for the best angles to shoot. The calm lake and the surrounding natural scenery blended together, compelling me to press the shutter. At this time, I noticed many people jogging energetically by the lake, giving me a sense of positivity and motivation.

Day 1: Immersed in a Futuristic Fantasy Today's itinerary begins at Tokyo ImmersiveFort, a place where technology and art blend seamlessly. Stepping into this immersive exhibition hall feels like entering a futuristic world, with each room constructed from light, sound, and interactive installations to create different fantastical scenes. I particularly enjoyed a hall simulating the universe, where stars and planets surrounded me, making me feel both small and connected to the entire cosmos. After touring the exhibition, I strolled around the nearby Tokyo Skytree area, admiring this modern landmark and the riverside scenery. The Skytree at sunset added a touch of softness to the city. Day 2: A Blend of Nature and Culture The next day, I chose to visit Inokashira Park to experience the tranquility of nature. The lake here reflects the lush trees, and despite the many visitors, it doesn't feel noisy. Within the park, I visited the Ghibli Museum, Mitaka, stepping into a fairy-tale-like building to revisit the classic works of animation master Hayao Miyazaki. From sketches to short films, every scene is filled with warmth and creativity. This itinerary perfectly balances the futuristic with the pure essence of nature.

This park has such a cozy and magical vibe! Inokashira Park is the perfect place to take a peaceful walk, ride a swan boat on the lake, or even have a cute picnic under the cherry blossoms in spring. The trees surrounding the water make it feel like a little forest in the city. But the best part? The Ghibli Museum is right next to it! Visiting felt like stepping into a Studio Ghibli movie—there were Totoro statues, secret tunnels, and even a life-sized Catbus! The exhibits were so dreamy, showing how their movies are made. The stained-glass windows featuring Ghibli characters were absolutely beautiful! Tickets are hard to get, so you have to book in advance, but it’s 100% worth it.
