The Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur are not the legendary Batu Caves
Colorful Malaysia 🇲🇾
🌈 After breakfast, head to Kuala Lumpur. Visit the Putra Mosque in Putrajaya, change into traditional Muslim robes for a tour and photo session.
☀ On the way to Kuala Lumpur, visit Malaysia's Hindu holy site, the spiritually rich Batu Caves. Walk on the natural limestone path and explore the features of Malay culture and Hindu temples.
🔥 Return to Kuala Lumpur and visit the political center of the country, Independence Square. Visit the landmark of Kuala Lumpur: the Petronas Twin Towers. It is not only the tallest twin building in the world but also represents Kuala Lumpur's significance in the global economy of the 21st century.

Kuala Lumpur Batu Caves Travel Guide | With LRT Route
If you have a passion for colors, the Batu Caves are not to be missed! The rainbow stairs here are far more attractive to people than the Batu Caves themselves, drawing crowds of tourists every day. Honestly, if you love colors, the Batu Caves are undoubtedly a must-visit!
After all, these caves are located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, and most of the existing guides simply direct you to take a taxi there. I also spent 17 Malaysian Ringgit to get there by Grab taxi. However, when I was ready to take a taxi back, I unexpectedly discovered that there is an LRT train station here. You can easily commute by taking the KTM Seremban line light rail train (line 1 on the rail map), which is not only affordable but also avoids the hassle of traffic jams in the city. Here is the specific travel plan for everyone:
🚆 At the departure hall of KL Sentral station, buy a ticket at the KTM Komuter area through the self-service machine, or at the ticket window, with Batu Caves (Batu Caves) as the destination, which costs 2.6 Malaysian Ringgit.
🚞 After buying the ticket, scan the QR code on the ticket to enter the station, then follow the signs to platform 5 to wait for the train. This platform is dedicated to going to Batu Caves.
🛤 Take the train for 8 stops and arrive at the terminal station Batu Caves. After exiting the station, just follow the crowd, and you will reach the entrance about 300 meters away.
❤️ Warm tips:
Seats on the LRT are not assigned, so feel free to sit anywhere. The carriages are relatively cool and clean.
The train departure intervals vary between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the time of day, and you can check the departure times on Google Maps in advance.
The front of the train is the ladies' carriage, so gentlemen, make sure you don't get on the wrong train.
The train passes through Kuala Lumpur station, where you can also board.
💚 Special tips:
Ladies must wear knee-length pants or long skirts, otherwise, you will have to buy a scarf on the spot for 15 Malaysian Ringgit.
Don't tease the monkeys when climbing the stairs, and keep an eye on your bags.

Kuala Lumpur Batu Caves
The biggest highlight of the wind tunnel is the majestic golden statue in front of the cave - this statue is the son of Shiva and the snow mountain goddess, Shiva's son Shubhakriti, and Tamils like to call him Mulugan. It is a huge golden statue, about 140 feet high, with a magnificent momentum that is amazing! There is also the rainbow ladder here, which has become a popular check-in point for newcomers on the internet! Climb up the 272 steps to the rainbow platform leading to the mountain.

Swimming in the waterfalls, near KL
The Kanching Eco Forest Park (Taman Eko Rimba Kanching) is located at Rawang and is about 21 km away from Kuala Lumpur. If you are looking for a few hours off your regular routine, head for this tropical rain forest and spend one to three hours here. This forest is a popular spot for a picnic during the weekends. It has seven waterfalls and pools have been built to contain the clean water that falls down from the hills.
Renowned for its seven tiers of waterfalls, Kanching Eco Forest Park is a park with the most waterfalls in Selangor. You will discover that this forest reserve is like a carnival of waterfalls with varying heights and landscapes where you can choose to take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water of Kanching River. Some waterfalls are small but powerful; some gentle and graceful; some plummeting; and some cascading majestically. They are a feast for the senses. With so many waterfalls to choose from, finding the perfect spot to revel in its beauty may not be an easy decision to make.

Congo Falls, a hidden beauty close to Kuala Lumpur
If you're looking for a place to escape to for the weekend or just to get away from the bustling city, this waterfall is just the perfect spot. The hike to this waterfall takes about an hour and you will be walking through some amazing jungle. This spot is known for its clear water and a deep pool you can jump into as well. Do note that the trails are not well marked so you would require getting a guide. I would recommend checking out Mowgli Venture as they provide day guides for the location. Do try to arrive here around 8am to witness the light ray making a beautiful show as it cuts through the rainforest canopy. #hiking #waterfall #kuala_lumpur

Batu Caves is located north of the city center of Kuala Lumpur, about a 20-minute drive from the city center. The giant golden statue at the entrance represents the Indian deity Lord Murugan. This 42.7-meter-tall golden statue, completed in 2006, is one of the tallest Vishnu statues in the world.

The temple culture in Southeast Asia is quite unique
Finally set foot on the long-awaited Southeast Asia trip, every attraction is carefully designed. 😃😃😃 Checked in at the Black Wind Cave, sounds scary, but it's actually full of Buddhist vibes.
🌟 Highlights:
The temples in Southeast Asia feel quite different from those in China. The architectural style is more splendid. 😁😁😁
Moreover, the whole attraction is located inside a cave, which adds a bit of a different charm. No wonder it has become a must-visit spot. ☺☺☺
📝 Tips:
The attraction is very crowded, be mindful of your personal safety.

Taking a stroll at the Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur
🛕 This is a Hindu temple, with a long flight of rainbow stairs 🌈 coming up from the square. But it's best for women not to wear skirts, as they might not be allowed in!
🪧 There are a lot of pigeons 🐦 on the square that you can feed, which is quite interesting. There are also many little monkeys 🐒 around, and they get along well with the pigeons and are not afraid of people, looking very spirited.
🪷 The golden Buddha statue here is both benevolent and majestic, said to be the largest of its kind, and taking photos as a memento is very meaningful. The temple also houses many Buddha statues, with the painted bodies and faces of the Buddhas looking vivid and full of religious artistic atmosphere.
🕍 It's not too far from the city center, so you can pick a nice day to visit and enjoy the view of the blue sky and white clouds ☁️ from inside the cave, which is very nice~

Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia - Batu Caves
Batu Caves is a tourist attraction in the state of Selangor, Malaysia, located about 13 kilometers north of Kuala Lumpur. It is a limestone hill comprising a series of caves and temples, with its name 'Batu' derived from the Sungai Batu (Batu River) which flows past the hill. Additionally, Batu Caves is also the name of the local village, also known as Batu Gajah.
Inside the Batu Caves, there are numerous painted statues and limestone caverns, and the caves are also home to monkeys and bats. In 1892, Hindu devotees began celebrating the Thaipusam festival at Batu Caves, which has since evolved into a grand traditional cultural festival. In 2007, the National Heritage Department designated the Sri Subramaniar Temple as a national cultural heritage, and in 2012, the main staircase leading to Batu Caves and the area where the Thaipusam festival is celebrated were also included in the national heritage zone.

Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur | I will climb to the very top for this rainbow staircase
Kuala Lumpur's iconic Batu Caves is a pilgrimage site for Hindus.
1️⃣ No admission fee is required. There are a lot of tourists coming every day, and there is a very beautiful rainbow staircase, and the whole place is very brightly colored, vibrant and colorful.
Make an effort to climb to the top and there's also a cave with lava, but be careful with the many monkeys around, make sure they don't snatch your phone.
They are naughty and clever. If you feed them something, the little monkeys are quite skilled and smart.
2️⃣ Taking photos here is very photogenic because of the bright colors. There's no need for photo editing, it's already beautiful.
3️⃣ A kind reminder to wear long pants when coming here, otherwise, the staff at the entrance will stop you and ask you to spend 15 Malaysian Ringgit to buy a scarf to wrap around yourself.
Actually, I brought my own scarf, but it seems like they just want to make some ticket money, although there is no admission fee here, I was still forced to buy a scarf. I only wrapped it once and then I threw it away, it really became a one-time use, which was a bit costly.
4️⃣ Originally the weather was very hot. After climbing up and down, I got thirsty, there are many small shops and restaurants at the foot of the mountain, coconut water for 7 Malaysian Ringgit.

Hiking to Kanching Waterfall
#gohiking
Hiking to Kanching Waterfall was an invigorating journey through lush Malaysian jungle terrain. The trail was a blend of challenging ascents and serene stretches, each step revealing new layers of natural beauty.
The sound of rushing water grew louder as I approached, heightening the anticipation. Upon reaching the waterfall, the sight of cascading water against the backdrop of verdant foliage was breathtaking.
The cool mist enveloped me as I stood in awe of nature's power and tranquility, making the journey well worth it.

The more they suffer, the more devout they are
This festival, which looks painful just by watching, is the moment they connect with the divine.
After hesitating about whether to go to Malaysia during my trip planning, I found out that Thaipusam was happening just then. Looking at the photos, oh my goodness, I decided right away: I'm going!
🌟 Thaipusam
A Hindu festival celebrated by the Tamil people, it's now less common in India itself but still a major annual event in Malaysia. Devotees start abstaining from indulgences and eating vegetarian a month in advance, and on the day they trek a long distance in an almost 'self-torturous' way to repent and atone for sins.
🚶♀️ Route
Starting from an Indian temple in the city center, they walk barefoot to the Batu Caves, over ten kilometers away. They set off in the early morning carrying the heavy 'kavadi' and aim to arrive by noon. As a tourist, you don't have to walk along; you can take the subway directly to the Batu Caves in the morning and wait at the destination.
🎭 Connecting with the Divine
Upon reaching the Batu Caves, you find a crowd of pilgrims gathered at the entrance. Despite expectations, the various extreme forms of devotion are still shocking. Piercing tongues and cheeks with silver needles, hooking backs with iron hooks, the most devout carry the kavadi weighing tens of kilograms in full regalia.
Having fasted for 24 hours and after a night's trek, their physical and mental strength is at its limit, and at this point, they are mostly in a trance or even a frenzied state. Thus, a person who was quiet just a moment ago suddenly shouts and transforms! Eyes bulging, tongue sticking out, hands and waist bending like a peacock; one guy suddenly grabs a passerby and seems to transmit energy head to head?! After it's over, the passerby has to express gratitude.
Maybe at this moment, they have connected with the divine!
🎉 Closing Ceremony
At the cave entrance, the final ceremony begins with rapid drumbeats: spinning and jumping with eyes closed. Those who complete the ceremony will play with fire and smear their faces with lime in a frenzy for a while, finally settling down at last.
What a magical world indeed.
⛰️ Batu Caves
After completing the long journey and climbing up 300 steps to enter the cave, the final redemption is done. Devotees carry milk on their heads, offering it to the temple and the deities. Priests scoop up the milk in buckets and pour it over the bright red statues of the deities inside the shrine.
At this point, the entire ceremony is complete. It's unknown whether the people are satisfied, in a trance, or just exhausted, but they must feel solidly happy.
💃 Indian Girls
After exiting the cave, the focus turns to photographing Indian girls. The Indian descendants in Malaysia are mostly of Tamil ethnicity, with dark skin and thick lips. A red dot in the middle of the forehead and a veil covering the face.
In this half-day experience, the devotees seem to enter a parallel world: here, gods exist, humans can communicate with gods, and the goal is to show repentance and redemption to the divine. The more self-torture, the more sincere the devotion. These are the rules here, which may seem incredible to tourists, but are accepted and believed by the locals, even achieving a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
And in different places around the world, with different customs, religions, and cultures, people live different and even completely opposite lives. This is the life imposed from the outside, but perhaps it is also a lifestyle we can choose.
The world is so colorful, and our lives are thus filled with infinite possibilities.

Exiting Thame park, one and a half hours drive from Kuala Lumpur, try to avoid weekend and/or school holidays, it would be extremely crowded! Queue are very long not even for games only, even cable cars to hill top, toilet and food court also need to queue long, others overall are fun and memorable, keep in mind that prices for foods are more high than Kuala Lumpur and others city
