The Dingdong Tomb of Empress Dowager Cixi is the most luxurious empress tomb of the Qing Dynasty, and the only empress tomb of the Qing Dynasty with an open underground palace. The Long'en Hall of the Cixi Tomb is decorated with gold inside and outside, and there are three unique features: the first is the gold, with 4,592 taels of gold used to decorate the entire Long'en Hall into a golden hall. The second is the wood, with 64 large pillars of Hainan huanghuali wood used to build the Long'en Hall, which is now valued at RMB 20 million/ton, and each large pillar is worth billions. The third is the stone, with the best stone in the country used to build the Long'en Hall. The white marble platform in front of the hall is carved with "phoenix above and dragon below" stone carvings using high relief and openwork carving techniques, overturning the usual order and fully demonstrating Empress Dowager Cixi's ambition to take control.
