Putuo Mountain in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai is perfect for a weekend!

Walking 20,000 steps on Putuo Mountain was really crowded, but we didn’t miss anything—walking, taking photos, riding vehicles, or queuing. Just one tip: our last stop was Shancai Cave, where we arrived a little after 1 PM and waited about 20 minutes to enter the cave, which wasn’t too long. We didn’t visit Fanyin Cave because we were too tired and went straight to take the bus 🚌. This is important!! Boarding the bus at Shancai Cave requires about an hour of waiting; it’s very crowded and uncomfortable, so it’s not suitable to go to other places from there. It’s better to get on the bus directly to the dock ⛵️ without walking a step. We saw many guides suggesting to walk another 15 minutes from the last stop at Nanhai Guanyin to the dock, which is really impressive. Here’s the route we took: 🚶Puji Temple - 🚶Nanhai Guanyin - 🚶Zizhulin - 🚌Fayu Temple - 🚌Cableway round trip - Foding Mountain (Huiji Temple) - 🚌Shancai Cave - 🚌Dock ⛵️ We entered the dock at 7:30 AM and returned at 3:10 PM. Because we had a child with us, we took the bus 🚌 for the rest of the trip. Overall, Putuo Mountain’s facilities are really complete (if there’s a downside, it’s that Shancai Cave tested all our patience). People from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai really love Nanhai Guanyin, especially since when a typhoon is forecasted to possibly land in Zhoushan, it usually gets blown away to Japan.
