It's a shame to miss the history, a fairly wide and pleasant downtown area, and there are quiet and wonderful spots hidden here and there that people don't know about. ⸻ Day 1 – Start in a spacious and quiet city center 🏨 Recommended accommodation near Zhengzhou East Station (郑州东站) → Transportation hub + latest development area → There are cafes, shopping malls, and parks nearby, so it's good for resting 🏛 Morning – Walk around the Yellow River Cultural Park (黄河文化公园) → Appreciate ancient Chinese mythological sculptures, pagodas, and pavilions along the river → The space is wide and there are not many people, so it's great for walking 🍜 Lunch – Henan-style noodles → Huimian (烩面, meat broth wheat noodles), warm and savory → Not spicy and easy to handle, so many locals eat it ☕ Afternoon – Explore teahouses & local alleys → There are many traditional teahouses near the East Station or in the old city area → The teacups are pretty and the atmosphere is quiet, so it's good for resting 🌃 Dinner – Walk around the night view in front of the city hall or rooftop → The night view is clean and bright, modern city style → There are many rooftop bars, so it's good to enjoy the city atmosphere ⸻ Day 2 - Ancient ruins & market finish ⛩️ Morning - Zhengzhou Shangcheng Relics Park (商城遗址) → Ancient Shang Dynasty capital site, ruins and museums together → Quiet and well-organized, good for just walking 🧧 Lunch & souvenir shopping → Traditional tea leaves, Henan dried snacks, handmade lotus scent → After that, take the train or go to the airport ⸻ ✅ Zhengzhou travel tips • 🛤 It's a transportation hub, so it's easy to connect to overnight trips (Xi'an/Chongqing/Wuhan, etc.) • 🍜 Noodles are not greasy, so they're good to eat without feeling heavy • 🧥 The park and ruins are wide, so walk slowly → Comfortable shoes are a must • 📷 Photo spot: In front of the Huanghe Park sculpture, terrace inside the tea house • 🛍 For shopping, I recommend the traditional market and tea house corner rather than the large mall! ⸻ ✍️ Final Review Zhengzhou is a waste to just transfer, and it was a quieter and wider city than I thought.
