This former aristocratic palace is an outstanding example of Mudéjar-style civil architecture.

Spanish Pyrenees Hike ~ Zaragoza (Region) It takes its name from the numerous coats of arms of this noble family, which decorate the interior and exterior of the building. The building’s construction was financed by the antipope Pedro Martínez de Luna, who in the late 14th century was known as Benedict XIII or “Pope of Luna.” Its structure and various elements still retain the appearance of the original building. The building is U-shaped in plan, with a 16th-century courtyard at the centre, housing a number of rooms. It has some notable Gothic stucco decoration under the arched mouldings and overhanging wooden walls. It has three floors. The ground floor was divided into two in modern times, but the original ceiling is well preserved. The second level - the main floor - is built on elegant wooden projecting eaves and still retains its original rooms and coffered ceilings in the Mudéjar style. #AprilDestinations2025 #SpainTravel #Aragon
