The beauty of this thousand-year-old town is best experienced at dawn and dusk, with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over a landscape that resembles a traditional Chinese ink painting. 🏠｜Accommodation and Dining If possible, choose a room on the outer perimeter with a good view. We stayed at the Tianquan Inn, where the view from our window of the cliffs and waterfalls was stunning, especially at sunrise, sunset🌅, and at night🌃! Regarding the room itself, the bed and bedding were of excellent quality for an inn, and there were thoughtful touches like bathrobes, red wine🍷, sparkling wine, and fresh towels. Everything was very clean and new, making for a comfortable stay. Our conversations with the owner revealed a truly visionary and thoughtful individual. Our room was quite luxurious. Upon entering, we were greeted by a stylish, vintage bed🛏. The bathroom featured a rockery⛰, creating the illusion of showering in a waterfall cave – haha! A thoughtfully placed heat lamp above ensured warmth even in winter. Just outside the room was a scenic open-air balcony, perfect for enjoying drinks🍷, conversation, and the night view🌃. The ancient town offers different vistas by day and night, and watching the changing light is a captivating experience. You can also savor local Xiangxi cuisine, including rice tofu, Guzhang teppanyaki, and crispy rice cooked in a wood-fired pot. I highly recommend this unique and relaxing inn. Even during holidays, it doesn't get too crowded, making it ideal for a peaceful getaway and a taste of the slow life.
