#chinatravel We visited Yunji Ecological Park in Yongshou County on a quiet afternoon and were immediately impressed by the expansive, green landscape. Covering over 16,000 acres in a rugged gully region southwest of the county, the park feels vast yet welcoming. Walking along gently sloping paths, we passed lush terraces, small vineyards, and wide patches of farmland thoughtfully integrated with the rolling hills. The air carried a soft earthiness, punctuated by the hum of insects and the gentle rustling of trees. It felt like a living tapestry of ecosystem restoration—every view seemed to speak of renewal and purpose.  What stood out most was how sustainability was woven into every feature of the park. Rather than decorative landscaping, we saw cableways and escalators placed discreetly within gullies to aid access while minimizing soil disturbance. Water reservoirs created from upstream rivers support irrigation, turning formerly barren slopes into thriving greenery. What once seemed unremarkable land now feels cultivated with intention, balancing agriculture, winemaking, and eco-tourism in a harmonious way.
