There is a legendary story about its construction. It is said to have been initiated by Empress Xiao of Emperor Xingzong of Liao. The "Chronicles of the Khitan Kingdom" records that "Empress Xiao of Emperor Xingzong, a native of Yingzhou," and the Xiao family was honored, and three empresses were produced, which was extremely glorious. On the door lintel wall panels in the north and south of the first floor of the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, there are six donor figures, three men and three women. Some historians assert that this was the family temple during the prosperous period of the Xiao family. In the second year of Liao Qingning, Emperor Daozong of Liao gave his mother Xiao Tali the honorary title of Empress Dowager. For Emperor Daozong of Liao, who was obedient to his mother, it was reasonable to build a Buddha pagoda to enshrine the Buddha's relics in his mother's hometown. 💫Many magical stories have happened in the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. During the Kangxi period, during a renovation, a carpenter accidentally dropped an axe. And there happened to be two children playing on the ground, and the axe fell between the children. People say this is a blessing from the gods. From the construction of the pagoda to the present, there has not been a single casualty here. 🕊️ In 1926, Feng Yuxiang's army wanted to expand to Shanxi, and Yan Xishan's army fought with it in Yingxian. The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda was attacked by more than 200 artillery fires. One of the shells drilled into the four-story railing, luckily it did not explode, it has not been taken out yet, and it caused a slight tilt on the third floor. 💥In 1948, when Yingxian was liberated, the defending Kuomintang army used the wooden pagoda as a commanding height and set up a machine gun position. The wooden pagoda was hit by 12 shells, each shell passed through the pagoda, but there was no explosion in the pagoda. 👀In September 1933, the famous architect Liang Sicheng traveled a long distance and rushed here overnight. The first time he saw the wooden pagoda, he exclaimed that it was so good that it was amazing. Afterwards, he and his disciple Mo Zongjiang spent two weeks drawing the drawings of the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. 👏Yingxian once held a meeting of 10,000 people in the wooden pagoda.
