I have to share my experience with you! 📍Address: Just navigate to "Shangrao Gexian Village Resort." It's located in Gexianshan Town, Yanshan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. The surrounding natural scenery is incredible, with mountains all around. I felt embraced by nature as soon as I arrived 🌳. 🚗Transportation: • If you're taking the high-speed train 🚄, you can arrive at Shangrao Station. There are several options from the station. A taxi takes about an hour to reach Gexian Village and costs around CNY 150–200. You can also take the scenic spot's direct bus, which is more affordable, but be sure to check the departure times in advance on the official website or at the offline ticket window. • Driving is even more convenient. Just follow the navigation, and the scenery along the way is fantastic. There are also rest areas along the way where you can stop to admire the scenery and take photos 📷. 🕙Opening Hours: Open all day, but different times offer different beauty. During the day, you can experience the tranquility and architectural beauty of the ancient village. At night, when the lights come on, it's a different kind of dreamlike scene. I recommend going early in the afternoon so you can enjoy both the daytime and nighttime scenery 🌅🌃. 🎯Itinerary: • Upon entering the village, walk along the main street. The ancient buildings are scattered in an orderly manner, making you feel like you've traveled back in time. There are many unique shops along the way where you can stroll and buy souvenirs 🎁. • Next, go to Yueya Alley, where the architectural style is unique and perfect for taking photos. Further ahead is the Zhongmiao Pavilion. Looking up from below, it's magnificent. Climb the stairs to enjoy a panoramic view of Gexian Village—the view is superb 👍. • In the evening, don't miss the light show. With Zhongmiao Pavilion as the backdrop, the interplay of light and shadow, accompanied by music, is breathtaking and dreamlike 🧚. After the light show, you can also visit the night market and experience the lively atmosphere. 📸Must-See Spots: • The square in front of Zhongmiao Pavilion is a great place for photos, day or night. During the day, you can capture panoramic views of the architecture. At night, with the lights on and Zhongmiao Pavilion in the background, any shot is a masterpiece 📱. • Xixin Pool is surrounded by a tranquil environment, with the trees reflected in the water, resembling a traditional Chinese painting 🖼️. Taking photos here, blending people and scenery, creates a super artistic conception. • Also, explore the small alleys. Wander into any one of them, and the mottled walls and wooden doors and windows are full of ancient charm, allowing you to take artistic and retro photos in a snap 🤳. 🍱Local Cuisine: • You must try the Yanshan hot noodles! Smooth rice noodles paired with delicious broth and various toppings—pure bliss in every bite. The restaurant I went to also allowed you to customize the spiciness and vinegar level, which was fantastic 👍. • Dengzhan Guo is also very good. The outer layer is made of rice flour, and the inside is filled with various ingredients, such as shredded radish and green beans. After steaming, they become crystal clear. One bite, and you'll experience a soft, glutinous, and savory flavor. • There's also Qingming Guo, which comes in sweet and savory versions. The sweet one has a sesame filling, while the savory one is filled with wild vegetables and meat. Each has its own unique flavor and represents local specialties. You must try them 😋. 🏠Accommodation Recommendations: • There are many guesthouses in the village to choose from, each with its own style, from classical Chinese to modern minimalist. The guesthouse I stayed in had cozy rooms and a small balcony with a view. The price was also reasonable, around CNY 300–500 per night. It might be slightly more expensive during peak season. • If you want a more luxurious experience, there are also resort hotels with complete facilities and attentive service, allowing you to fully relax after a day of exploring 🛏️.
