Arrived in Xuzhou

Arrived in Xuzhou During this trip back to Xuzhou, I visited the newly built Wenmiao District in the city center, climbed Yunlong Mountain again, toured the Xuzhou Museum, enjoyed barbecue and Diguot Chicken, and reminisced about the four years I spent studying in Xuzhou, having been to many places, big and small, in the city. When traveling to Xuzhou, Han culture is an essential aspect. To see the Han culture in Xuzhou, the 'Three Excellences of the Han Dynasty'—Han tombs, Han terracotta warriors, and Han stone reliefs—are the essence of Xuzhou. For a cultural journey, the following places are recommended: 1. Xuzhou Museum: On the second floor, the Tiangong Han Jade exhibition features three jade suits (with gold, silver, and copper threads) and an S-shaped jade dragon ornament that are must-sees, truly the best of the best; the third floor's 'Yongxiu Ninghua' exhibition displays many pottery figurines unearthed from Han tombs in Xuzhou. For Qin figurines, visit Xi'an, but for Han figurines, Xuzhou is the place to be, well worth a detailed look. Behind the Xuzhou Museum, the Tushan Han Tomb allows you to see the excavation site of Han tombs, and the Qianlong Imperial Palace on the right side of the museum is also worth visiting. 2. Han Cultural Scenic Area: You can enter the Lion Mountain Chu King's Tomb and marvel at the wisdom of the ancients; the Xuzhou Han Terracotta Warriors Museum is also located within the scenic area, built over water. The Guishan Han Tomb, Ximatai, and the Xuzhou Han Stone Relief Art Gallery are also worth visiting, as well as the newly built Xuzhou Underground City Ruins Museum (Pengcheng Square) and the Xuzhou City Wall Museum (located in Huilongwo). It's worth mentioning that in addition to Ximatai, Hubushan has an ancient architectural complex that I think is very worth visiting, including the Cui Tao Hanlin Mansion and several well-preserved courtyards. If you like the outdoors, I recommend Yunlong Mountain and Yunlong Lake, Dalong Lake, both of which are excellent spots to watch the sunrise and sunset. I've been to Pan'an Lake during my university years; it's quite far from the city center, located in Jiawang, but the scenery is also very good. If you're interested in flower viewing, the cherry blossoms in Pengzu Garden and the ginkgo trees at Huai Tower are a must-see. Xuzhou has always been a strategic military location, and the Huai Tower and the memorial hall are well worth a visit! There are also places like Xuzhou Paradise, Xuzhou Fantawild, and the recently popular Baolian Temple (which I didn't hear much about when I was in university) that are fun to visit. Xuzhou's cuisine is too numerous to count, including Diguot Chicken, Xuzhou barbecue, Fengchu Street shaved ice, Azhe rice noodles, Mashijie sha soup, Yunlong Rang Tea... During my university years in Xuzhou, there was no subway, and it took fifty minutes to take bus 91 from the College of Engineering to Pengcheng Hotel. Whenever I had free time, I would wander the streets and alleys, and I miss those days. I've been to many places, such as Xubo, Yunlong Mountain, Chu King's Tomb, and even took a four-hour round trip by bus to Guishan Han Tomb. I've tasted many delicious foods, sha soup, Diguot Chicken, flatbread... Finally, I wish Xuzhou continued prosperity!
