Xining One-Day Tour at the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Gateway

The essential city on the Qinghai-Gansu Loop is Xining, which many people only use as a transit hub. However, as the eastern gateway to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Xining is an ancient city with a history of 2100 years. If you have one day, you can visit here: 1️⃣ Ta'er Monastery The birthplace of Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, named for the pagoda that was built before the monastery (Ta'er Si). At Ta'er Monastery, you should see the butter sculptures, the Vajradhatu Mandala, the murals on the outer walls, various exquisite gilded Buddha statues, and the Tibetan Buddhist story thangkas. 2️⃣ Nanshan Park Located on Phoenix Mountain, there is a Phoenix Pavilion on the mountain, which is one of the best scenic spots in Xining, perfect for watching the sunset. (Unfortunately, the Islamic 'Gongbei' on the mountain is currently under major renovation) 3️⃣ People's Park The spring-limited tulips are blooming, and there's also the Xining city flower, the lilac. 🌸 Accommodation (Xining Sanyu Hotel) 1️⃣ The hotel is located by the Nanchuan River, surrounded by commercial facilities, making shopping, dining, and traveling very convenient. 2️⃣ We stayed in a scenic twin-bed room, which was spacious with good sound insulation, and also had a large living room. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows not only provide views of Nanshan Park but also snow-capped mountains when the weather is clear. 3️⃣ The breakfast is rich, including regular Chinese and Western meals, as well as local Qinghai specialties: milk tea, sanzi, boiled rice, etc. The complimentary executive lounge afternoon tea is also quite special, allowing you to enjoy the scenery while tasting delicious desserts. 4️⃣ The hotel has a constant temperature swimming pool and a spacious and bright gym with complete facilities. 5️⃣ The front desk staff are particularly friendly, attentive, professional, and efficient. They even gave us yak yogurt! 6️⃣ Parking is convenient, and the hotel also offers airport shuttle services.
